CCW Takes On Bank Robber

Thoughts on this guys taking on a bank robber in my local area ....a super hero? stupid use of CCW? crazy?

If someone near me says they have a bomb and that he or she intends on using it, I consider it the same as if they were pointing a gun at me. I wouldn't have bothered with the witty banter back and forth. I would have shot him on the spot.

wow that guy is a hero! and if the man looked as if he were capable of carrying a bomb ie. vest, backpack, etc. then im shooting for the head. If he looks like a cracked out old man who is desperate for money im going to draw and tell him to take a seat

Love the YouTube comments. Typical. Suspicious of why he'd have a gun in the bank. Suggesting that he could have caused a real bomb to go off by shooting his gun, etc. etc. etc.

Of course, if he had done nothing, and people had been killed by the BG, they'd be ready to hang him...

Nice work, though.

I wouldn't have done this. Interesting, appeared no issue with the law doing this, but it could have led to a nasty situation at the bank if he did have a bomb.

Man threatens your life with a bomb and you don't shoot him???

A former Lebanese army soldier is probably well-acquainted with how people who REALLY have bombs look and act.

He took the only line a terrorist understands - No matter what you do, you will not achieve your goal and you will die for nothing.

HERO!!!

Why do you carry a gun? Threat is real / threat is made towards you. Action(s) taken were proper. If you carry a gun and are not trained to take out the BG (meaning you have practiced long enough and continue to do so so that your shot(s) hit the intended target) you should not be carrying.

I do not to be a hero. I will only draw my weapon when there is no other way out. I do not train to shoot BG's but I do train to be able to hit the intended target repeatedly without collateral damage.

This guy did the proper thing.

"I have a bomb."

That would instantly change how I would handle the shooting. I would still shoot until he was down but knowing he has a bomb would mean that once down I would put several rounds into his head to ensure he does not trigger anything.

I am still firing until the threat is removed, it just takes longer to be certain of that when the attacker might blow up himself and all around him.

I love how the reporter plugs the gas station (FREE HOT DOGS!!!) at the end of the report. :D Freakin' classic!

All in all, a good story, and a brave man. Good on him.

I for one HATE monday morning quarterbacking. The guy saw the play and he made it. I think more stories like this should get out.
