CCW Fanny Pack Sign-in

On rare occasions I've carried in a small fanny pack. It's handy if I'm outside wearing elastic waistband shorts to exercise, the fanny pack is about the only method that'll work.

I got a man purse that hangs on your shoulder as a gift a few weeks back...

it holds a lot of stuff including my Sig 230.

Man Purse

it holds a lot of stuff including my Sig 230.

I am having this vision of some BG's saying "hey man what you got in the purse, your makeup kit" and you say "yeah, when I pull out my Sig 230 you makeup reasons to leave".:D

I bought a Maxpedition Fatboy Jumbo a couple months back primarily for hiking day trips, but it has turned into a tactical man purse for me including frequent carry of my P345. I still carry a separate gun on-body when I'm carrying it though. Usually something small IWB or in my pocket.

I use the "man-purse" all the time...
usually with a little .38 or Colt Defender.

You will reach (I have reached) an age when you (I) do things that make you (me) look silly,
and you (I) just don't care.

Ask me about knee-high dress socks, shorts, and sandles...

I use Uncle Mike's belt packs. They have belt loops that you can thread your belt through, so there is no "fanny pack strap". They work well for me, but since I am left handed, I have to take my belt all the way off to get the belt pack off. That's a pain to run into the post office, etc. So, I did some mods, will try to post some pics later. Had a friend "install" true belt clips onto the outside of the belt pack in place of the belt loops. I can put the belt pack on and take it off my belt as easily as my cell phone, beeper, etc. Works great and is a really convenient way to carry a gun. Blends in well because many people have tons of stuff clipped to their belts these days. For me, there were no IWB or concealment holsters that felt comfortable enough to wear, despite several hundred dollars of trying. I am a tucked in shirt kind of guy. Everyone is different and entitled to their own opinions and preferences, that's what makes America worth defending, but for you guys who think it is sissy to use a fanny pack, I say this: When I see a guy with a shirt that is obviously intended to be tucked in and the guy has it hanging out draped around his waist, I immediately ask myself why that "man" is wearing a dress.

whatever floats ur boat, but gun and fanny pack just dont go together in my opinion.but i will say that 9 times out of 10, u will have the element of surprise on your side.

but gun and fanny pack just don't go together in my opinion

IMO, the most important part about having a gun for SD is to have a the gun with you! Holster is good, fanny pack is good, under your hat is good if it works. The best system for me is the one that allows me to carry all the time.

it has turned into a tactical man purse
Hmm. I'll have to give that some thought. I do like having lots of pockets to carry my crap in.... I'm over 40 and already married..... I'm already ugly....

You know, you're right. What's the down side?:D

No it's not as fast as a holster, but normally you don't need to be a speed draw artist.
Tell that to the "froth in the mouth" pistoleros who are always advocating Cond. 1 to 3 due to speed...You know, the "ambush theorists"....:D
Anyway, I agree with your logic, but personally rather just stick a smaller caliber in my pocket when w/o a cover garment....:)

Fanny packs don't work too well for guys like me...........
