CCW Fanny Pack Sign-in

I am back to fanny pack carry again. I have several good concealed carry holsters, but a fanny pack is just so convenient. My Smith Mod. 36 or Colt Det. Special fits just right, and spare ammo. I just keep my pack on the shelf and when the wife wants to go shopping I just put it around my waist I am good to go. No it's not as fast as a holster, but normally you don't need to be a speed draw artist. If people are real alert they will notice I have my wallet in my back pocket, so then they can think...I wonder what he has in that fanny pack.:)

So, how many here use a fanny pack as their normal daily CCW?

I have one I've used for about 6 years now. I slid a cheapo uncle mikes flashlight holder on one side and on the other side one for a pepper spray.
I usually have a HKc usp in 40s&w or a sig 229 in 357 sig in it.
I love the thing, run with it on, a walk with the wife, off to the store, it works great for all seasons and reasons.

One other thing I did to it was put electrical tape on the zipper pull to keep it silent when I run.

I use a Mountain Smith Swift II in a lime green to carry my USP or Sig 220. I use to have a Banachi, but it looked like it was designed to carry a gun.

The fact is, mine is not a "made for gun" carry. But I did shop a lot before I found one that suited me. It does have a zipper directly on top of the bag to the main compartment. Nice heavy pull taps so opening is fast and easy. It is lined and lightly padded. It's comfortable for all day, and looks like all the other normal fanny packs out there. I have leather CCW holsters I paid more than $80 for. But I use my $15 fanny pack most of the time.

Anyway, no one seems to pay any attention. Well except for other CCW holders that are saying to themselves.....I know what this guy is doing.

Jim, this guy's got you beat..

Yeah. That pack is set up to carry a LOT more than just a gun and accessories.

Mine is closer to being "all gun" and I'm carrying a bigger piece than he is in that video. At 43oz the NewVaq357 is right on the ragged edge of sanity, and really possible in my case only because I'm 6'4" and 280lbs.

IWB at best.

Whatever works is good. I have done IWB, just not comfortable for me. The system you like enough to use is the best. Having a CCW is the main issue, no matter the caliber or carry system.

I went to a maxpedition jumbo pack.Sling it across your chest and the draw is just about as fast as an inside the waist.A Glock 21 is just a little difficult to carry in the summer time concealed.Plus keys ,wallet, sunglasses and extra mags all go in there.

When I am on my motorcycle or dressed for manual labor I use my fanny pack holster. In it is my Kahr CW9.

Convenient perhaps, but ugly as hell. A man-purse is probably also very convenient...

Personally, I would rather <insert any type of nasty stuff here> than carry a fanny pack.

True, but my fanny pack holds my make-up kit just as well.:D On the other hand, when you get to my age you don't pay any attention to looks. Just wait....you'll get there someday.

BTW Playboy, we appreciate the fact you dressed up for that photo.:D

I have several fanny packs that are used for CCW, each costing between $10and $20. All are black, either leather or ballistic nylon. Some have a velcro loop to secure a handgun within the large pocket, some have other pockets attached (for a cell phone). They serve well for carrying any snub-nosed revolver or a compact pistol, and I have added a short length of cord to the zipper pull that opens the main compartment, so that the gun can be accessed without looking.

I use my fanny pack when I fly I put all metal, wallet, change and everything in my pockets in the fanny pack. wear my velcro belt and go through the screens a lot faster

I use one quite a bit when traveling. I have one that is leather and has a built-in holster that will fit a Glock 29. This is the one I mostly use. Another is a nylon rectangular piece that the wife bought 2 of. Mine's black and seems to be very thin, but that's the idea of this; comfort. A Glock, for example would print rather heavily in it, but the KT would blend right in. The P32, of course, not the PLR.:D
