CCW 9mm choices

I'm 6'3" and I carry a p226 iwb, all you need is a good belt for IWB. It all depends on your frame and I think even a pretty large handgun will conceal if you get a fine holster in the right position.

That said, a polyframe is just lighter to carry all day and smaller guns need less holster. I dont think much beats a small glock for small poly frames though.

Doesn't really matter what you recommend. anything reasonable is good to go. After all,we're all gonna end up with one of everything in the end!;)

Sequins: what type and brand of holster do you use for iwb? I would like to carry a 226 iwb. What brand of belt do you use?

Before I got rid of it, I carried a P220 just fine in a Crossbreed Supertuck and a Crossbreed belt, carried easy enough, grip was just a smidge too long for my preference in CCW.

@Seven High: I use a KT2488 King Tuck IWB Holster with the forward strap screws adjusted to the highest configuration, and the rear strap screws adjusted to the middle configuration. I wear it with a Galco SB3 belt, personally I wear a 38 I'm quite slim.

I wear it in the 3:30 position, and the adjustments I've put on the clips make the thing disappear. It never prints unless I bring it too far forward into the 3:00, or too far back into the 4:00. It's got a spot where it wants to be and it just fits there perfectly.

I'd say the holster I have is truly exceptional and one of the best IWB holsters I've ever owned for any weapon. I'd strongly recommend getting the specific holster I named. The belt is a nice looking dress belt but it was $70 and I'm sure you could get something just as high quality for less if it didn't have the Galco name. That said, I paid more for the Galco name and I love the belt and it's quality is impeccable.

Lots of neat stuff out there. Get him to handle anything and everything he can lay his paws on.

Those which feel right...get him to shoot. Repeat as required.

Once he finds some thing(s) that he shoots well, see if he can conceal and carry it comfortably.

Repeat/refine as required.

The current situation is both a blessing and a curse.

A blessing in that if you have endless time, patience and money, you will eventually find the perfect CCW pistol.

A curse in that...it may take a lot of time/resources/effort to find "the one"...and as soon as you do, someone will come out with something new/better.

Such is life. More choices are always better than fewer.

I would recommend that you advise your friend to do their own research. Maybe they only shoot sa well. Maybe they like the secure feeling of having an external safety, or maybe the do not want a safety but a long DAO trigger. Maybe they like Da Sa. Do they want single stack, or double?

So you see, so much of this is a personal choice. Your friends, (not yours).
My personal favorites most likely will not be yours or theirs. Among mine are Ruger SR9c, Taurus 709 slim, Taurus PT111 gen2, Diamondback DB9, S&W Shield 40, and Glock 27. Plus revolvers. Some have safeties, some do not.

SR9 OR SR9C

Carry the biggest you can conceal. With a Alien Gear IWB I can carry a 17+1, 4 inch RUGER jeans and tee shirt, have the tee shirt tucked in and you are not going to know it. More to ccw than getting a tiny gun. Holster and time to learn how to not give yourself away are what its takes most of all. Newbies keep checking if the gun is still there, or covered. Thinking everyone can see your carrying why in fact most people are too busy talking on the cell or text/tweet, listening to mp3 or watch YouTube to see or care if your carrying.
