Oleg,
You probably are the only one here who could determine for us whether or not it was satire, an expression of nationalist anger, or something else entirely.
-----
Beemerb,
I agree with you.
But there seems to be a difference in application.
-----
All,
While we (gun owners) “freely admit we have some nut cases in our ranks,”
too often when we speak about the undesirables in law enforcement we
either paint all LEOs as the “nut cases” or give a specific example and then
try to use that as an indicator of the average cop.
Naturally, the LEOs out there who are on our side find it offensive - just as
we (gun owners) find HCI’s descriptions of gun owners offensive.
Look at some of our gun owners and how they respond to HCI. Although we
“freely admit we have some nut cases in our ranks,” many gun owners
respond with severe threats of violence against HCI for challenging us in any
manner. To their credit, LEOs seldom respond in a similar manner to our
similar accusations - intentional, unintentional, or implied.
Me? I have never been a cop - never will be. I don’t have what it takes
emotionally, philosophically or, in my waning years, physically. I can not be
called a “wannabe” - no way.
If bad LEOs are a nightmare for us, imagine what it must be like to be forced
to work with such people. You never can rely upon their support. You never
know if they will do something that will ruin your career, lose your job, put
your family in financial jeopardy or put you in physical danger.
Those of us on the outside try to require the street officer to purge the police
ranks of the inept, the tyrannical, the bigots, etc.
Okay, then it would be just as fair for you to be required to do the same in
your professional organization.
I’m self-employed so my work group or organization only has brilliant,
freedom-loving workers. (Yeah. ME!
) But I find there are “nightmares”
in the VFW, American Legion, our County Commissioners, the local school
board, etc. with whom I have little say or sway.
To be fair, do you honestly believe that a line worker in a factory can dictate
which “nutcases” get rehabilitated or fired?
Whether it’s a slaughterhouse for Tyson Foods (where I’ve worked), a branch
of the military (where I’ve served), a large school system (where I’ve
worked), or a police organization (where I’ve observed), it is management
which is responsible for the conduct of the organization. The workers are
subjected to similar “nightmares” - no matter where they work.
Let’s rejoice that the vast majority of “common people” are not worthy of the
disdain we frequently and carelessly heap upon them.
To gain a different viewpoint, go to
www.Google.com and search on:
police gun control
Enter it as three separate words with no quotes. You may be surprised to
learn that more LEOs are on our side than on Sarah Brady’s.
Meanwhile, while many gun owners are bright, fair, and proficient in our use
of firearms, if I get in trouble, I’ll call a cop.

My, my. Seems we're over 100K. Closed.
