CC Holster

Dashunde makes a fantastic point. chubby doesn't lend well to iwb. the love handles do push down the belt even without a gun there, especially after bending at the waist. if you are chubby and carrying iwb, when you sit down, the gun WILL absolutely print.

while it is the least convenient place to draw from, i find that sob is the best place to carry iwb if you are chubby. even then, you need a really good belt.

Well, I'm 6' 1" and 240 pounds. Technically classified as "obese", though I certainly look more like "chubby" than obese. IWB has never been a problem for me and I'm sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, all day, every day.

"Printing" is over-rated and mainly a concern of new carriers. Frankly, you could wear your gun under a wetsuit and most people wouldn't notice. A little "printing" under a shirt is inconsequential.

Personally, I prefer Kramer leather ...and horsehide vs cowhide is what I prefer.

The trick on a holster is will you wear it / so it has to be reasonably comfortable ...but will it stay open after you draw a gun / so you can get the gun back into the holster without using a 2nd hand. I also use a holster that is designed to fit the gun I want to carry ...this one size fits all semi-autos concept does not work for me.

Whether you go with the IWB or the scabbard ...I like the forward FBI tilt on my holsters. The little bit of extra tilt - allows for an easier draw and re-holster at least for me.

The top two holsters on the Theis website are virtually identical to the Crossbreed Supertuck.
The products are similar, but the prices, not so much.
$65 shipped from Thies. With shipping, the Supertuck is over $100 (94.75 + 8.95 shipping), similarly configured (1911, Horsehide w/ J-clips).

 They must have raised prices immensely! I paid about $65 for my Supertuck 2 1/2 years ago, with 2 sets if clips and horsehide.

Sure, it should come down to personal preference ...and my buddies and I argue about this stuff all the time...

what suits me at 6'5" and 275 lbs is a far cry from what suits my buddy at 5'10 and 165 lbs ....( or the gun that fits my hands the best ) vs his ...vs caliber ...vs carry ammo ...etc ..poly guns, alloy frames, steel frames..../ or the belt we choose / or where we choose to carry the gun in the holster...

that's why this hobby is so much fun ....there isn't just one way to approach any of this ....

I love my Comp-Tac Minotaur. The interchangeable Kydex bodies are very useful. I can easily switch between carrying my CW45 and M&P 9c. With that being said, I'm still undecided on a holster for my 1911s. I can't stand the thought of jamming them down in Kydex!

I'll be the odd man out again and recommend Fist holsters, as always; www.fist-inc.com. Whatever else you do, stay away from cheap nylon holsters, which, in my experience, don't hold up well to everyday use.

The other thing about Theis and CrossBreed these days is lead time ... multiple weeks for a SuperTuck and my Theis in horsehide was ordered Tuesday evening and arrived on that same Friday ... and Tommy Theis makes the model I wanted (for a S&W 1076) where CrossBreed and Kholster didn't. By the way, Theis' quality is excellent, although I am certain that this is also the case with the SuperTucks. This style certainly feels like a winner (functional, tuckable and comfortable) and I, like Peetzakilla, am glad I found them before buying that box-full :D
