I'm a fan of the inclined plane and the fulcrum/lever combo. A large wheelbarrow combines those features and allows one person to lift and move things that are very heavy.

Oh and the wheel, don't forget the wheel.

Could there be a chance the OP has physical disabilities or limitations? Even a small four legged critter (or was it a predator?) would be a chore and a half for a feller in a wheelchair. I know some Vets that can do some amazing things from their chairs... but dont ask them to pick a whole lot up off the floor.

Jimbo4 that reminded of something I heard on the radio during hurricaine Ike. A tree fell on an exotic animal farm and Bengal tiger escaped. I thought it was funny as hell until I thought wait a minute, biggest thing I have is a 338. that's like shooting a whitetail w/a 22, not exactly a stopping round. Anyway, I live in the middle of Houston, and we live next door to some russian immigrants. My brother shot a possum off the fence one night w/a 22 subsonic and it fell into their yard. we knocked on their door the next day and told them what happened. The lady went into her backyard w/us and in her very russian accent said " oooh what a horrible beast, I aime glad you keeled it" it was funny as hell.
