• Anything ‘published’ on the web is viewed as intellectual property and, regardless of whether it displays a copyright symbol or not, is therefore copyrighted by the originator. The only exception to this is if there is a “free and unrestricted reuse” statement associated with the work.

In order to protect our members and TFL from possible litigation, all members must abide by the following new rules:

    1. Copying and pasting entire articles from another site to TFL is strictly prohibited. The same applies to articles from print or other media, and to posting photographs taken of copyrighted pages or other media.

    2. Copyright law provides for “fair use” of portions of a copyrighted work. You can copy no more than a SINGLE paragraph from the article to your post (3 or 4 sentences at most).

    3. You must provide a link to the article along with the name of website. For example: ww.xxx.yyy/zzz (The Lower Thumbsuck Daily News).

    4. You must provide, in your own words, a brief summary of the article AND your reasons for believing it will be of interest to TFL members. Failure to do so may result in the thread being closed or your post being deleted as a “cut and paste drive by.”

    5. Photographs and other images are also copyrighted. "Hotlinking" of images (so that it appears in your message) from other sites is also prohibited unless you own rights to the image. If you wish to share an image, provide a clickable link to it.

Posts that do not follow these new guidelines will be altered or deleted by staff. Members who continue to violate this policy may lose their posting privileges at TFL.

Can we get quote and MULTI-quote buttons?

In short, it is much easier to block out some noise, then to try to figure out how some signals were modulated so to speak.
And it is much easier if the noise is blocked at the transmission site before it enters the stream. TFL is the transmission site. Removing the "quote" button did, in fact, help boost that particular signal to noise ratio.

The bottom line? The "quote" button will not return.

LOL, it's amazing how all that was rationalized.

It adds no extra "noise" to a forum. It functions in the exact same way as your existing button... except it actually does everything for you.

And to call anyone lazy for not wanting to open a text box, hit the quote code, scroll back through (possibly to PRIOR PAGES), copy the post, paste post in text box, go back and copy poster's name in case it's a funky spelled odd name, then do all of that over and over again in case you're quoting more than one post....

That's just ridiculous.

That's like saying you're lazy for not wanting to turn a crank to start your car. Sorry... I'd much rather use an ignition key thank you.
Noted.
+1 No noise here.
Have to agree.

It's just a rationalization.

Until complete and total retards who are too lazy to use even a modicum of common sense and prune the quotes so that they're quoting a discrete portion of a post start "serial quoting" as is being demonstrated above.

And it always seems that most of these quotetards, yes, that's a new word, you can use it, don't have anything much to say. They just want to weigh in with a +1, QFT, RIGHT ON, or some other such drivel.

And then, of course, ANOTHER quotetard feels compelled to jump on that bandwagon with an equally pointless, inane "contribution."

But hey, anyone who thinks it's a rationalization? $100 and you can have a forum all your very own where you allow endless, mindless, quotetarding.
Oh, I just wanted to give myself a +1!
