Can this scenario be real?

10-15 years ago Winchester was marketing a Model-70 take-down. They (Winchester)guaranteed absolute return to zero in the add.

I have a .300 Savage take-down with a tip-off scope mount. I trust those type mounts less than a set of Weaver mounts to return to zero. I have gone to the 100 yard range with it and assembled/disassembled the barrel and flipped the scope back and forth between firings. A mouse would not stand a chance sitting on a pole at a 100yards with the first shot. Not 300 yards, but not a bolt action either.

My Blaser break-action does that just fine (don't own one of their bolt actions). There is a reason you pay $500 for a good gunsmith-adjusted scope mount in Europe, these things usually are within a half MOA after remounting the scope. So I have gotten similar results with a set of Warne QD mounts, but it's a lot of work to make sure you've mounted the scope without any tension that varies in between remounts; it has to just slide into the rail without any force.

Real Life?

What about a two piece? Browning BLR takedown. Guy I used to work with has one that he transports in a large briefcase all over the northern states elk hunting. He swears it holds absolute zero for several hundred yards....
