Is this technically now a straw sale???
Yes, it is. No question. It is someone else buying a gun on behalf of a person who is not eligible to buy it himself, using money provided by the ineligible person. How much more of a straw purchase could it possibly be?

I haven't been able to follow TFL as closely as I'd like lately, but I don't think that there was any indication that the intended recipient was prohibited or otherwise not eligible to purchase a firearm.

If you are talking about the San Bernadino terror shooting referenced in Post # 59 by TXAZ, the guns' purchase was clearly a straw purchaser, but the male shooter was a natural born citizen and was not a prohibited person. I don't believe his Pakistan born wife even in the U.S. when the guns were bought. Had she been the actual purchaser she may have been a prohibited person. I don't recall them, but I believe the rights of aliens to buy or possess firearms are limited.

Dreaming100Straight, emoody's post, which was quoted by Aquila Blanca and then myself, had absolutely nothing to do with natural born citizens, or who was in the U.S. "when the guns were acquired." I can only assume that you're referring to the San Bernardino shooters, especially in light of TXAZ's link. Please refer to post #52.

Let's not get off-topic here, people.
