oneoldsap is absolutely correct - the OP's rifle is NOT a 1903 US Springfield, or a "low-numbered" Springfield.
It is definitely a "sporterized" US Springfield 1903-A3 Rifle, with the manufacturer's name stamped into the front receiver ring under the scope mount ( Smith-Corona, etc) - as witnessed by the US Springfield bolt cocking knob, stamped bottom metal, and male sight dovetail atop the rear receiver bridge for mounting the 03A3's issue peep sight.
The dovetail's hard to see in the pic, and might have been ground down to allow the rear scope base to be fitted, but most base sets have a thinner rear to allow for the issue dovetail as is.
They are hell-for-strong rifles, w/o issues, and will take any ammo you can chamber - as long as the headspace's OK.
It's easily worth the $250, IMHO
