California Assault Weapons Registration Form

Thanks Aerodog,

I'll be sure to register my Stanley-Bostitch B515 Assault Stapler w/ 210 round magazine. Uhh, I just measured my office stapler, and found out it measures 6-13/16" long and 2-1/4" tall (1-7/8" unfolded). This means I have a Saturday Night Stapler.

Wait... the stapler is taking control of my mind... feeling evil tendencies... must.. go.. on.. stapling rampage.... AIEEEEE!

You crazy, young.

Funny - I saw today in my Tapco, Inc, catalog, a new symbol printed on certain pages beside full-capacity magazines listed for sale. The symbol is the traditional "No [whatever]" symbol, meaning a red circle with a slash through it (like Ghostbusters), only what's in the circle is a "CA", which I assume means they can't ship the mags to Calif. Where will it all end?

I too live in California and own a AR so I will have to fill out one of these forms. But my question is they don't ask for a sales slip that shows this weapon was bought before the deadline. What I am getting at is that someone, not me because it would be illegal, could still buy a weapon out of state and lie when it was bought and be able to register the weapon legally. Let me know what you guys think about this.

This is true. It seems there are certain boots that you can not buy if you live in Kalifornia. In the new Cabela"s catalog it says,"Due to state law, these boots cannot be shipped to California". They must be the deadly assault boots that are made of kangaroo skin.
In NY at one time you could own a HK91 then several years after I bought one and registrated it it was outlawed. Police would come to your door if you did not turn it in or say how you deposed of it. This will happen it Ca.

Hmmm, looks to me like another great protest method. While I wasn't looking, my printer started spittin' out some of these forms. No sense wasting 'em ... ;) Guess I'll have to mail 'em to somebody.

Looks like Boxer's got a gun & yes, they will be folded.

Markd,

Don't register unless you want it removed from your posession at a later date.

Practice some civil disobedience to unconsititutional laws.

Look into your options! There is always a better option than registration. For your AR, look into Gun Compliant Stocks for a Kali-legal alternative to registration. For that matter, at a gun show in January here in Sacramento, AR's were still for sale with the pistol grip simply hacksawed off. Civil disobedience is the ideal, but for many, not an option due to the possible consequences. In this case, find a way to stay legal, without giving away your birthright and freedom. Just my opinion....

jcoyoung,

I think you are over-reacting. I have a Swingline “Tot 50” (don’t *go*
there, guys!) that is only 2 15/16 inches long (or *there* either!).
Admittedly I am trading off hi-capacity for concealability but it gives me
peace of mind to know my “Tot 50” is right there in my briefcase.

Remember, it’s not the size of the stapler that counts! Placement is
everything!

Piercing, bending, and grabbing hold is what counts. My Swingline truly is a
stapler for the common man. This business about SNS (Saturday Night
Staplers) is misleading. If it holds tight, it’s effective! What more can you
ask of ANY stapler?

I'll register my stapler when they pry it from my cold, dead hands!

PS: This feeble attempt at humor is in NO way intended to detract from the seriousness of the stupid, immoral, unconstitutional, illegal and tyrannical laws and regulations perpetrated upon the good people of California by their criminal government.

Either you believe in the Second Amendment or you don't.
Stick it to 'em! RKBA!

I hope I did not offend anyone by making fun of the Draconian registration laws of California. My (attempted?) humourous suggestion at registering a simple office stapler is to express my disgust with California law. I do plan on registering my "assault weapons" with the PRK as an act of Civil Disobediance.

Dennis could not have worded it any better. The issue of firearm registration is a very serious infringement on our civil rights. Although I do not live in the PRK, the impact of this heinous peice of tyranny can eventually affect every citizen of the United States.

Now where can I buy 8"x8" envelopes? Or better yet, some gigantic envelopes that take up tons of space. ;)

If there is anybody you know that says that regular folks like us don't need "assault weapons" (I prefer the term Defense Tool), point them to the thread at the AR15.com discussion forum (if it ever gets fixed). The link can be found in my post Please Read This - CAUTION!....

I must echo that you not register at all. It's your life, and I don't have to pay the consequences that you might, but I would avoid registration at all costs. You could get one of those removable pistol grips, and still be legal. I long ago gave up on obeying every little penny ante law and regualation. I only practice moral gun ownership. A massive non-compliance with the law would send a clear message. Almost as clear of a message as everyone affected VOTING AS A SINGLE BLOCK. Ever thought about sueing for violation of civil rights?

I've already said this before but,

Put the name of your favorite politicritter in the form and register any weapon you want to their name and send it in. Or you can just make something up. Doesn't matter. I think if enough of us do this, we can drown the bureacrats with paperwork, when they try to sort the real things out from the fakes. I want to crash this whole registration program if we don't get it repealed.

Oh, and fill them out with gloves on and send them from a different city than where you live or work. I've had it with these jerks.

Aerodog:

Two things:

1. Other than harrassment of the applicant, what possible reason for the prohibition on folding a piece of paper for mailing might there be. There is no baloney like California Baloney.

2. Did they really omit Social Security Number on the form??

I won't mutilate my AR-15 or any of my other weapons to appease to cowardly masses.

I like the way my AR-15 feels and fires AND I WON"T CHANGE IT!

I will also not hide my weapons (that would be the same thing as burying or getting rid of them). I wouldn't be able to use it either way.

I WILL register them. If ANYONE tries to confiscate them...too bad...for them. :(

Interesting also that they will not accept CASH. Are they not violating the law by not accepting the currency that is "Legal Tender for all debts, public and private"?
Maybe there is some gray area, but if they are requiring you to have a debt, then you should be able to pay that debt with the currency of the United States of America...or has PRK started printing their own?

I hope everyone recalls those poor souls, who wanted to be law-abiding citizens, and thus registered their SKS rifles in compliance with the Unconstitutional California law. It was, but a short time later that they all received an intimidating letter from A.G. Lockyer instructing them to deliver them up to the Government!

I remain ABSOLUTELY convinced that any attempt by gun owners to comply with this ridiculous law, or throw wrenches into the system, will backfire.

If you send in phoney registration cards, the duplicitous A.G. will undoubtedly "count" them in his compliance statistics. Once again:

No Citizen has any obligation to comply with an Unconstitutional law.

To all fellow AW owners:

Don't register your toys until the DOJ examines SB 23 this month. Forgot the dates,
but will hold public meetings to figure out the definitions and how to enforce another worthless law.
