Cabin fever and S&W 1917 .45 revo...

Back years'n'years ago, Dean Grennell (is he still around?) described his M1917 that had been shortened to 4" and had adjustable sights fitted. He described it as his ".45 Combat Masterpiece". What a neat idea!

You know I have a 2nd model hand ejector .45ACP with a 5 inch (not 5.5) barrel that was made in later 30's that looks like that. The thing about the blueing is it is more blue (mine is 90%) than the brazilian run and it has little bit different shape to hammer than Brazilian run. My hammer and trigger appear cased which Ive never seen on Brazilian. Mine has just prewar style walnut grips of different style also. My front sight has been set to index with Ball at 25yds and skillfully cut into a Patridge blade. I dont shoot this gun much anymore but fired a few thousand in my 20 years with it. Its not a 1911 but it will do.:D
