Bush's military medals

I used to be a big fan of Rob's cockeyed.com site; his "science experiments" are pretty entertaining....I guess he won't be getting my traffic anymore....

You can email him at rob@cockeyed.com to express your indignation...

I thought jokes were supposed to be funny?

Have leftists spun so far out of orbit that we don't even have humor in common anymore?

I thought it was pretty funny when I posted it, but then I think the idea of George Bush running against John Kerry is hilarious. No doubt the only reason Lubbock, Tx isn't part of Vietnam today is because of the brave acts of airman Bush in defending it.

OK President Bush was in the Air Guard instead of a frontline grunt unit.

Ya know what? Being in the guard is a lot more honorable than flat-out draft dodging like Clinton -- of course his record didn't matter to the Dems then.

We've had guardsmen killed in the present war and I will not stand for anyone demeaning them because they are/were "just in the Guard."

Perhaps I am becoming an old and crotchety curmudgeon, but I found the “Bush medals” website (http://www.cockeyed.com/citizen/medals/medals.html) offensive, not because of what it suggest about Bush, but because it implicitly belittles those of us who have repeatedly earned personal decorations for valor and/or outstanding professionalism.

I wonder if “Cockeyed” ever wore a uniform in defense of our Republic, no less served with distinction? It is one thing for those of us who have done so to be cynical about military medals, but it is a FAR different thing for those who have not to be contemptuous.

Well, if I become to unbearable, you could look into a preemptive nuclear strike.

Or is Montana downwind of Nevada?

Thanks, I'm in the Navy, though.
Outstanding!

I put the little * in for folks who might not know what CIC stands for. I like acronyms as much as the next guy, but sometimes I see posts where I really wish folks would let the rest of us know what their's stand for.

Not funny. Site also doesn't work very well.

I think it's a mistake to criticize Kerry's war record. It only serves to reinforce the stance he's taken: he was in Viet Nam, therefore he knows more about defense. That's a huge leap of faith, but some of the public is buying it.

As for GW's National Guard service, what was the accident/injury/mortality rate for those flying jets? If he'd wanted a safe position, he could have applied for mess sergeant.

Kerry has been running on his service record so hard, and complaining every time that his service is attacked, that the pressure is mounting for him to release his service records, just as GW already has. If those records don't show that everything that Kerry has said is 100% true, he could be in for trouble.

If he wanted to be safe, he'd have joined any reserve unit. Unlike the Guard, reserve units were not sent to Vietnam.

Kerry was for Nam Vets before he was against them.

I think that is a legitimate criticism. It fits all of the facts. He was there as PCF 94's OIC, then he abandoned them on the field of battle. He wasn't carried out, he wasn't crated out. As a former Navy man, that's all I'll ever need to know. And I bet that 98% of Marines, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard agree with me.

Now if we even touch lightly on what he did after the war, he ends up in the realm of the totaly unforgivable.
