Bushnell Elite Vs. Nikon Monarch...Im torn

Nikon or I can throw a wrench in this and say check out the Sightron S2 Bigsky (They have a $75.00 rebate on them now which make it a good value)

I have the 6500T Elite on my .300 and The Nikon Monarch on my .30-06. Both are good scopes for the money but I think I like the 6500T better. It does hold zero better and I cant really tell any differece as far as light gathering. The Bushnell doesn't seem to fog as much or as easy as the Nikon either. In my opinion I would give the Bushnell the edge.

First off, what will the scope be used for and just how much are you willing to spend? Honestly, I have owned both and still have a bushnell Elite, but neither would be a first choice. There are lots of decent optics out there, and it all depends on just what you want to use them for.

Guys thanks for the support of Nikon Scope's. If any of you do ever have a problem with one of our optics I would be happy to help walk you through the warranty process. Nikon has an outstanding warranty because they produce an excellent product and have very good quality control.
Here's a piece of Nikon's Warranty.

"No Questions Asked" one- year replacement (U.S. only) - Elite Only

You're assuming they will stand behind that statement.

They did for me. Full refund and no problems getting it. You just need to tell them what your problem is and what you want done about it. I didn't have ANY problems getting them to honor their warranty and there wasn't even anything wrong with the scope.

Off subject of which is better but I also have a Meopta that is a pretty good scope and moderately priced. Maybe you should check them out.

I have a Bushnell Elite 8-32 x 40mm mounted on my 17 HMR and it's wonderful.

Even with the sunshade on, it gathers light like no other scope I've looked through (Weavers, Nikon Pro Staffs, mid end Leupolds such as the VX series, etc.).

If you do decide to go with the Elite, I'd go for the 6500 series with 50mm objectives, they gather light just a tad better. I'd go for the 2.5-16 magnification model with fine multi-x reticles.

I haven't had to deal with Bushnell's warranty service. My $30 Bushnell binocular that was made in China is still working, and I bought that in 4th grade :D
