Bushnell Elite Vs. Nikon Monarch...Im torn

Im torn between the Bushnell Elite Tactical or Nikon Monarch. Both seem like really good scopes and both offer everything Im looking for, for the price Im willing to spend. Just would like some input. So far its come down to who has the better warranty. If you guys could help me out that would be awesome.

Vortex Viper if you van afford it get the PST. (Sorry) What do you want to use it for and how much do you want to spend? The Vortex will have better alot better warranty then both.

I have been considering a Bushnell Elite tactical 6-24x 50 FFP mil/mil to go on the new FN SPR I ordered.

I have a couple of each and I much prefer the Nikon. In late evening hunting, the Nikon is much clearer and brighter.

Nikon Monarch here and completely satisfied, really good for the money.

FB, Vortex wasn't on his list. Great that you like them and all.

One more vote for the Nikon. I was deer hunting yesterday evening and just as it was starting to get a little dusky, had a nice doe walk out on me at about 175 yards. I tried to look her over with a pair of bushnell 16X binoculars and couldn't see at all. I cranked my Monarch up to 9 and could easily see the deer. It was a quality managed county and all bucks have to have at least 4 pts on one side so I had make sure it wasn't a young spike or nub head. The Nikons have a lifetime transferable warranty but out of the 3 Nikons I own, I have never had need of the warranty.

both are good glass. Personaly id go with the nikon because bushenells warantee dept burned me and nikons has allways been first rate.

RT, I have that 6-24x50 Bushnell scope you're eyeing and will tell you it's an excellent optic - though if you're looking to shoot at extended ranges, you might consider buying a 20 MOA base for it - the internal adjustments for elevation are somewhat limiting if you aren't using mildot ranging.

Nikon all of the way for me.

I had an older Bushnell 3200 that would not hold zero, and it was never on anything except a couple of hunting rifles and an AR. I sent it back twice... First time they took no action other than to "inspect" it and returned it as it was. The second time the ticket said that was re-calibrated, etc. I don't know if that fixed it or not as I never again mounted it.

On the other hand, my Monarch has now survived two pretty tough and demanding LE sniper schools on one of my rifles that I use as a loaner. I've never had to use Nikon's customer service/ warranty department, which leads me to believe they do a better job BEFORE it leaves the factory.

So Nikon it seems to be.....

Thanks fellas! Nikon seems to be the favorite. After dropping 500-700$ you kinda want the warranty to be pretty awesome. Aside from that Nikon seems to carry a good reputation for quality products.Hopefully I wont ever need the warranty.

I've not used a Bushnell Elite, but I own two Monarchs and am very happy. They are very clear, pull in a lot of light and hold their zero very well.

I have a Bushnell 6500T Elite 4.5-30x50mm on my 700 308 target rifle and I also have a Nikon Monarch 4-16x50mm BDC on my hunting rifle. I will say in a low light situation the Nikon has the edge, but when it comes to holding zero and tracking I have to give that to the Bushnell. For me each one serves its purpose on the rifle I have it on.

I wanted to commit on the warranty issue. I did have a Millett rifle scope that I had to send back and I received a brand new scope no questions asked. Bushnell owns Millett and I had to send it back to Bushnell is why I am pointing this out. Never had to use Nikons CS so I have no idea has to how they are.

I bought a Bushnell Elite 6500 mil dot scope last spring. Due to some vision problems I had I couldn't use the mil dot in certain light conditions. I called Bushnell and talked to customer service. They said to send it back with my receipt from where I bought it. I did and a few weeks later I got a full refund for my purchase price. I don't know anyone who does that! How can a warranty get any better? As far as the scope went, the optics were superb. It would track perfect and return to zero every time. It was the best scope I ever owned and I've owned a lot of them over the years. I own five Bushnell scopes right now, all Elite series scopes. I've never, and I mean never, had any problems with any of them. Nikon is a very good scope. Super clear optics but I don't like their little circles for a reticle on some of their models. They've been around as a company for a long time and I'm sure they make a good product. Buy which ever one you like the best. They're both good scopes.

My last Nikon Monarch was a solid scope however I consider the glass poor to fair, had a "tunnel" effect while clear in center edges were less at any setting when target shooting at 100 yards eye strain was a problem after 10-15 rounds, returned to Nikon they cleaned, adjusted yet it was same when returned, basically unusable for me in target shooting would have been ok for occasional target shooting/deer hunting.
IMO I believe it's pot luck when buying optics in this price range, parts from around the world and they change monthly/yearly depending on suppliers.

I have no experience with the Bushnell elite.

my experince with bushnells customer serv. dept. went like this. I bought a new 4200 2x10. I sent it back telling them that and they returned it to me as is and said the tube was bent and there warantee didnt cover damage like that. I had lapped the rings so i knew it wasnt a matter of me screwing it up. I sent it back again with a letter stating exactly how it was treated from the minute it left the box and again they returned it and about called me a liar. If it wasnt for a heads up by a guy on a gun fourm i wouldnt have known that they have a deal that states if your not happy with your scope in i believe its the first 90 days you can return it for a refund. I called them as i didnt want to pay shipping for nothing and told them that i just didnt like the scope and refernced this warantee. They even knowing i was the same guy said return it and id get a refund. Why didnt they tell me this before i spend money twice shipping it to them and waste all the time and efford fighting them! Alll i wanted was a new scope. Oh well i took the money and bought another monarch with it. By the way i did check that scope out well after it was returned to me and the tube was straight and there wasnt one sign of damage. Learned my lesson. I wont give them another cent.

Look at the Weaver tactical for the money ($675.00/$700.00) the Weaver Tactical 3-15x50 EDMR model #800363 can not be beat .;):D

This is from Bushnell's website

"No Questions Asked" one- year replacement (U.S. only) - Elite Only

I don't know of any other rifle scope maker that will let you use there scope for a year and then give you a full refund it you don't want it any more.......How can you lose with that:eek:

Also we aren't talking about there Banner series only the Elite series which IMO doesn't even compare.
