Bush VP to be CHENEY, who has a pro-gun record!

Well, Sarah Brady has just chimed in with her two cents worth on the Bush/Cheney combo.

She touches on such wonderful topics as: Cop-Killer Bullets, Plastic Guns and Rogue Gun Dealers. Take your Maalox; I warned you...

I hate to admit it, but I LOVE Dick Cheney more and more as I learn more about his record. Maybe some of my Libertarian brethren can point out to me some of his votes that went contrary to the Constitution. This settles my stomach about GW some, as he picked a more conservative mate than I thought he would. I was betting he'd be picking a real socialist to run with, and he suprised me. I'd like to see some of his cabinet picks prior to casting a vote his way though. I'm tired of being screwed by Republicans and Democrats. Ultimately, GW and not Dick will be running the country, and I need to know what he has in mind for a cabinet.

I'd really like to see who he has in mind for the SCOTUS. Now that Mr. Dick is on the ticket with "Dubya", and it looks hopeful they'll be in power; I'm hoping not only for no new laws but repealing some.

A good SCOTUS decision would provide "political cover" for legislative gun law rollbacks.

The key is to explain that "hey, this gun law won't survive 10 seconds in court, we might as well save the expensive legal battles that WILL erupt any second now by junking the dang thing".

Your average "apathetic taxpayer" cares a lot more about saving public money than he does braying due to media-whipped hoplophobia.

As to picks: Stephen Hallbrook comes immediately to mind :). But Akhil Reed Amar is more likely, he's a Yale law professor and a minority the Dem Senate will be less likely to try and shred in public during approvals. Go read his "The Bill Of Rights" for why I think he'd be cool :).

Oh God, here's a good one: JUDGE CUMMINGS!!! Can I get a "HELL ya!" :D.

God be Praised!
"W"'s astuteness continues to pleasantly astound me.

MP Freeman,

In previous interviews, Gov. Bush has stated that his idea of the ideal Supreme Court Justice pick is someone like Antonin Scalia. He has further stated that he intends to pick nominees that interpret the Constitution by its original intent and will not legislate from the bench.

AlGore on the other hand believes that the Constitution is a "living and breathing document" subject to re-interpretation as Justices see fit.

It's a very easy choice for me!

A few months back, during one of those Mulberry Bush debates, I said that I thought Bush was a lot more pro-RKBA than he was letting on. Cheney just might prove me right.

Of course, that would be one of the few times in 49 years that I've been right. ;)
