Bumper Sticker

Little While back I purchased a BFR 45-70 for hunting...When I unzipped the case I quickly removed all the saftey papers and stuff from atop the gun so I could stare at this beautiful piece of craftsmanship....Later my wife was going through those papers and found a bumper sticker that has a picture of the BFR and says "SIZE MATTERS". I chuckled and said thats funny...the wife said put that on your truck. Well to all my fellow shooters...Should I?

Unless you want to save it with the rest of the original papers for collection purposes. I still have the original banner proclaiming "It's Here! The new Ruger 10/22!" that came with my 10/22 when I bought it in 1964.

Don't want to be a party pooper but putting gun stickers on your truck/car is an invitation for a thief to break in when you're not looking. He wants your gun.

As tempting as it is to encourage BFROWNER to put that bumper sticker on his truck ;), I think that 45Gunner is probably right. You might not leave guns locked in your vehicle, but if you have a gun bumper sticker on it, you might attract nitwits who break in and do damage because they think they'll be able to steal your gun. That's not worth it, IMHO.

I avoid them, myself, as I fear people becoming aggressive due to my own political/social convictions on the road. I almost got in a fight with a Ford driver cause of an "anti-ford" bumper sticker on my old Jeep. I've avoided them, since.

Very true. I was behind a guy driving his minivan one day, he had a CZ bumper sticker on his tailgate. As fate would have it, he and I were both going to the Tmobile store and I ended up behind him in line waiting to get served. he was wearing his CZ in a shoulder holster under a shirt and it was clearly printing. I was carrying my Keltec in my pocket. I was going to say "hey thos CZ's are good aren't they?" but discretion got the better of me. :D

As a rule I try not to put anything like that on my vehicles, theres no need for it and it just raises flags/causes trouble.

well considering ford hasn't consistently made a decent truck since 1979...and I'm a ford fan!

I avoided putting a Oregon Firearms Federation sticker on my blazer because of the theory that if there is some kind of road rage incident the other driver could see it and call the cops first and say YOU started the whole thing and then pulled a gun. the argument of people breaking into your truck looking for guns is a valid one as well. maybe if you had a rig that was only for off roading or an atv or something like that, but I'm not going to put any more NRA or other gun stickers on my daily driver.

I hate the fact that we live in a society that is so backward something like a bumper sticker can lead to so much grief.

I try not to advertise my being a firearm owner, but if you like the bumper sticker, put it on.

I'm not concerned about some one following me and then breaking into my home, I just prefer to not to advertise my CCW. Additionally, I don't put any type of bumper stickers on my truck.

Not meaning to hijack the thread,,,

But am I the only person who chuckles at the nomenclature of that hand cannon?

BFR?,,,

They say Biggest Finest Revolver,,,
I would bet a months pay they hope people think,,,

Big(gest) Friggin' Revolver,,,
Or do I just have a childish mind?

(Man, is that inviting a spate of Yeses)

I was watching an episode of Eureka the other night,,,
The one where the hero had to pass a weapons ID test,,,
They had a HUGE prop gun I recognized from the Stargate Atlantis series.

They called it the BFMG,,,
I assume MG stands for machine gun.

What was Magnum Research thinking?

I just think it's funny is all.

My suggestion:

Do what makes your bride happy! There will come a time when you will want to buy another gun and her happiness may be the determining factor....

I leave the gun stickers off of my truck for the same reason 45Gunner mentioned. On the other hand, I plaster it with anti-Obama stickers.
