Building 1000 yard rifles with no place to shoot them. Why?

I didn't call you Nancy Pelosi "like Nancy Pelosi" I was comparing the tone of your post with her views on peoples rights.

"I don't have a use for it so you shouldn't either" attitude.

You're making ignorant, unsupported assumptions.
If I built a 1,000 yard rifle, I would have a use for it, and I would use it. Well, alright, I wouldn't build a "1,000 yard rifle". I already own enough to do the job. I don't need the latest plastic-fantastic, ultra-sniper creation to give me a false sense of long range capability. If what I already own can't do the job, the problem is the shooter, not the rifle. But, that is not an issue here. If I "needed" to build a rifle for the job, I would.

As I've already said in this thread:
If you want to build a rifle, build a rifle.
But, don't build a rifle under false pretenses, only to come whining and complaining to other shooters that you can't use it as intended, because you don't plan ahead.

There seem to be quite a few people here that automatically assumed I have a problem with expensive rifle builds and/or long range shooting, because they didn't actually read everything I wrote. It's that attitude that irritates me. "Read 2 lines, and make false assumptions about the author, because I'm too lazy to finish what he wrote."

I don't care what you spend on a rifle (though, I would hope you're taking care of your family first). If you like shooting long range, good for you. This isn't about taking those pursuits away from people.

This was about me trying to see what the masses thought about knee-jerk builds that the owners later complain and whine about not being able to use.

Thank you, to the people that actually took the time to read the posts here.
