Buffalo Bore

I just ordered two boxes of the 100gr HC for my PK380. Never used it before, but I really like the velocities advertised.

FYI:

Buffalo Bore's standard pressure 158-gr. Short Barrel FBI load in 38 Special (Item #20C) shoots dead-on in my new Ruger LCR from 21'.

Buffalo Bore (or any "premium ammunition" for that matter) makes sense even if you hand load. Carry the good stuff for shooting animals/people and shoot paper with the reloads. I reload as close as possible to the Buffalo Bore ballistics for practice and use the "good stuff" for carry. I'm not one who is opposed to using reloads for self-defense I just feel more comfortable with the Buffalo Bore standard pressure 150 grain hard cast WC that goes two feet in ballistic gelatin from a J Frame than one of my Oregon Trails hard cast 148 grain WC that I reloaded.

Although a lot of people don't put much faith in the "handloads are bad for SD from a legal standpoint" argument, I do see how it can be a liability. I shoot handloads for practice but I exclusively carry commercially produced SD ammo when I CCW. Usually I use Buffalo Bore 38 Special +p's, Buffalo Bore .32's or Cor Bon DPX .380's.

From what i understand about Buffalo Bore's HCFN ammo that here in the cold climates, where heavy coats are worn, that the HCFN would be much more effective than JHP, because of the clogging effect that happens with JHP and a HCFN would punch right thru heavy clothing. Am i misguided?

BB and CorBon

Have used them both in .45 Colt and .357. I also use BB's standard pressure rounds. I find no fault in either. Prices are high, but most all good ammo is.

My experience with BB ammo has been very positive. The hardcast 380 performs as claimed and feeds flawlessly in my P3AT. I've also used BB in 38spl and 357mag and was very impressed. Pricey, though.

Saltydog452, that's good to know about the .32. that would probably be the best defense round for the little .32. Solves the penetration issue and that wide meplat will cause good damage considering the projectile size.
