Budget rifles running steel cased ammo

Would you even get a reasonably tight throat seal when a .308 steel case round is shot ? I would think steel cased ammo shot out of a chamber designed for brass would be garbage for accuracy and just not worth the pennies saved per round vs brass, especially for just a casual recreational shooter.
 
My wife and I have a S&W AR and a Ruger AR. They both run steel cased just fine and accuracy isn't any worse than cheap brass cased.
