I think you need to step up to $300. Although I have have seen those Taurus P111 pro-series (NOT 1st generation) on sale for $200, and I have one I bought for $350 that I really like. It's reliable and accurate.
Reviving this a bit, Sportsman's has the EAA sar b6p on sale for $249 at the moment, i grabbed one this morning, hopefully it will be into me ffl next weekamd I can report back. I wasnt very impressed with the taurus trigger, hoping for $50 more, the b6p will be more up my alley
I have a Gen 2 PT 145 .45 ACP made by Taurus. I bought it for around $325 a few years ago. New these were in the $350-400 range I think. I see them now on sale for $200. That is a steal.
You're basically getting a gun at a deep discount.
Full disclosure. The Gen 1 versions were aweful and I had one that was just terribly unreliable. I ultimately sent it back to Taurus at least once or twice.
I reluctantly tried a used Gen 2 a friend wanted to sell. I did not expect much but was overall impressed. After shipping, taxes, and FFL that $200 gun is likely closer to $265 for us here in WA ... so I got a good gun I tested in advance for around $325. Not great, but not far off given the value of testing it before buying it.
