Browning Golden Clays still made?

Not exactly the happy ending one might expect; but, at least Mike G. was able to fire the gun and determine that he didn't want that model.

How many times do forum members recommend to a potential gun buyer that he shoot as many shotguns as possible before making his decision? Probably more times that we hear from new gun owners who aren't satisfied with the gun they just bought without testing it (or one just like it).

Thanks for the update ...and thorough report ....

You're a good friend for helping you buddy out / giving him your input on the pros and cons of the gun ...and helping him evaluate it.

Like Zippy said ....I wish more shooters / potential buyers would take the opportunity to shoot more guns before they buy.

I was in a gun store on Sunday - after I finished a sporting clays shoot - browsing ( its more of a handgun / tactical shotgun shop ) - and was glad to hear a couter guy tell a prospective buyer looking for a Trap gun - that he didn't really have much in the way of true Trap guns ...but that he did have some pump guns ( 870's, Mossbergs, etc ) and actually have a discussion with the gun on cost, functionality, barrel length, etc ....vs here is what I have / this is what it costs ...??? ( I was there fondling an Ed Brown, all stainless, executive model, 1911 ...) that I didn't need ....

Nobody really needs an Ed Brown, all stainless, executive model, 1911. That said, wanting one is a different story altogether. :D

You're right .....I don't need the Ed Brown .....

what I really need is another Wilson Combat 1911 ....a Protector model, all stainless, ambi safety, mag well ....

and better vision so I could be competitive in sporting clays again ...
