broke my own rule

I gave one away

I gave my son my XD-40 I didn't like the muzzle flip. But now I am looking to get a 40 cal on a 1911 frame. I don't miss it i just regret not having it:confused:. Now I get the enjoyment of looking for a different gun. I buy what I want to shoot. I don't believe in safe queens.

I myself have the same rule to never sell a gun. I have been thinking about making an exception with a Mossberg silver reserve. Looks nice until you actually get it in your hands. I bought it as a trap shooting gun and i shoot horrible with it. I don't know why. I will stick with my trusty 870. cant decide if i should sell it or not.

I can't vouch for the current production AO guns made for Kahr Arms, but the old Numrich West Hurley guns that I worked on as a gunsmith in the 1980s were soft as butter. I don't think you'll have any regrets about getting rid of it.

I don't like selling guns but I will. Not very often, second safe has a fair bit of room left so no real need these days. I won't buy a gun I don't plan on shooting. If I run across a gun in my safe and can't recall shooting it recently or have any desire to do so I'll consider selling it to buy something I want to play with. Some guns I won't shoot anymore because of increasing values. Not selling many guns these days but when values recover a bit I may.

I have sold and traded many guns and regreted it later on. Even if I got what I considered to be a better gun. I will not do this anymore.

I appreciate all the comments. I expected more "never, ever sell a gun!" comments and was surprised at all the "well, I'll sell one in this case or that". Since it was a box-stock gun that could easily be replaced and I upgraded before I sold it, I'm thinking I might not regret selling it (famous last words!). :-) I should probably bookmark this thread and come back in a year and let you all know if I still don't regret selling it.
