Breaking in barrel of new Tikka T3 Lite

Wendy- I only shoot 168 and 175 Serria Match Bullets. I don't hunt so they are fine for me. You will Probebly use it for hunting, so I don't think those are a good choice for your needs. Also ( IMHO) I have stopped shooting the 308 for the time being because of the lack of primers. In the 308 I will only shoot GM210M Primers and lord knows when we will see them again. I have a bunch of other rifles to shoot while I wait though.

When it comes to barrel break in I have heard it put like this before......whats 50 to 100 rds going to do to a barrel that's made to last for a few thousand rounds......but guess if it helps you sleep at night got for it.....:)

A new barrel should be cleaned before it's fired, grease & heavy oil in a barrel could cause pressure problems. RL15 worked well for me also, IMR 4064 shot the best in my rifle. After a good cleaning I run a patch with Kroil oil.The night before I shoot I run two dry patches down the barrel. No need for a foul shot, first shot is dead on. Give it a try

All of my SIG SHR 970s have shot fine with no break-in. IMHO getting the action secure in the stock and perhaps "broken in" there is more critical.
