Brass too clean?

Yes I noticed it right away when I stated wet tumbling . Since they still size for me just fine I do not to worry about it . Now this is with 9mm and 45acp cases . Not sure how 357mag or other longer cases would be .

I full size my 308 brass base to datum .001 , also use the expander ball ,I don't neck turn my brass . To make it go smooth through the neck when lowering the ram , I lightly lube the inside of the necks with a Q Tip . Works well for me , runout is average .001 thats with nothing fancy , a Standard RCBS F/L die , tried the S Type bushing dies , didn't work for me , liked the idea of adjusting neck grip , again didn't work better for me. My chamber on my 308 is pretty tight , helps in brass life , a not a lot of stretching going on.

If I think I need neck lube I use dry lube. Wet lube and powder don’t mix. The micha or graphite in dry neck-lube won’t react with the powder.

Fair enough. I have nice comp dies, so I want them clean running through the press. I deprime, then anneal, then trim, then turn, then tumble, then handload. That works best for me, but certainly isn’t gospel.

I still dry tumble with crushed walnut media. A couple of squirts with Turtle wax "Wax abd Dry" spray in the media, 2 hours run time and viola! Clean, smooth brass cases.
