Brass Case Cleaner

Yeah I know about making a baffle in it, just decided not to run it unless I have enough to fill it up. I also have a bag of range pick up stuff In calibers I don't load, so occasionally will top off a short batch with a handful of them. They don't seem to mind being cleaned repeatedly.

There are certain things to spend the extra money on when reloading, brass cleaning is not one of them. I soak mine in some dawn dish soap and water to get the dirt and carbon grim off. I then tumble in a Harbor Freight vibe tumbler. It is half the price and does the same thing. I use walnut media (also cheap at Harbor Freight) and throw in a cap of liquid car polish every few cycles. It gets clean and shiny. One thing you may want to consider is building a hush box from scrap plywood and some old carpet scraps. I run it while working in my shed and it doesn't drive me crazy.

Actually Nosab, The Berrys shaker I purchased is very quiet. I run it in the kitchen and just don't notice it in the attached living room. Just a gentle humming, far quiter than the Lyman I sent back. I'm Happy, Happy, Happy!

BTW: Welcome to the Forum.

Frankford Arsenal's tumblers are notorious for having the wires pull apart at the motor. I repaired mine 4 times before it stopped tumbling my brass some 30,000+ rounds later. I now have the Lymann 2500 Pro magnum purchased through Brownells's. You cant beat there 100% guaranty. Figure if it breaks I'll call, send it back and they will send a new replacement

I gotta agree with you on Brownell's guarantee Don P. That's why I bought my Berrys through them. Good thing for you too, because if you read the fine print in the Lyman warranty there is a weasel clause limiting the motor to 90 days. :D
