brand loyalty?

Loyal to the best

sw_logo_no-text.png

Coming in at 2nd is Colt but I didn't plan it that way, it just kind of happened.

My respectful and rhetorical reply is, "How many guns does a person WANT?"

That is a loaded question!

I'm not a brand myopic type, and although I'm new-ish to firearms I intend to purchase quite a few different kinds and brands of guns in the future. Kimbers, H&K's, Sigs, and Colts come to mind...

No loyalty whatsoever. If you press the bang switch and it works, I like it.
I have commercial guns from S&W, Colt, Ruger, High Standard, Walther, Heritage Arms, Beretta, Browning, Springfield Armory, and Thompson/Center. C&R and milsurps from France, Germany, Russia, Argentina, Romania, Poland, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, and Italy.
Oh, I forgot Glock! And this week added a Taurus.

Early nominee for quote of the year!

Surely, you didn't ask that here.

No particular loyalty. I have Smith & Wesson, Colt, Springfield, Glock, Ruger, Beretta, Sig Sauer, H&K, Makarov, Uberti, Winchester, Marlin, and Stevens. I like them all.

Good for you Todd!

I was scrolling down this thread kinda quick and when I saw your post with the quote in it that said "how many guns does one person need" (?) I could almost here the screeeech of the scroll-downer as it came to a sudden stop when my eyes seen that!

Then, I read your timeless response. And literally giggled out loud! "Surely, you didn't ask that here?" gets my nod as being time capsule worthy! :D Great line Todd!

Brand loyality

Proud owner of 4 S&W revolvers:
model 340 MP - my carry gun
model 340 PD - wife's carry gun
model 686 - 3 inch barrel
model 686 - 4 inch barrel

One happy family of 357s.

3 revolvers, all Colts....a 6" 357 Ultimate brushed stainlee Python, and 2 .22 blue Diamondbacks a 4" and a 6". I never shoot them.
Autos....couple id Sig 9mm's....and several Bersa's.....the Bersa's are the best bang for th $$$$ out there....

I feel you buy based on the gun, not just by company. The best value, and reliability in whatever style gun is how I buy.
2 Ruger revolvers
1 Ruger auto
1 Walther
1 Kimber
1 Astra
1 Walther
1 Rossi

One of the best values was the Astra A75. This 40 cal is a sig clone. Very reliable, eats everthing it is fed. A bit heavy (32oz), but a great gun for $289 when new in about 1997.

I've only been in to guns for a month, I've bought 3 guns, an sp101, a 10/22, and an SR40. I don't think it's brand loyalty, it's just that everytime I find the features and quality I want at the right price, it's usually a ruger:D

Geez...

And I thought I was over the top

Some of you guys have lots of handguns....

How do you find time to shoot them all....?

3 S&W
1 Glock
1 Taurus

I have always liked S&W but I don't have "brand loyalty" to anyone. I like to get the best whatever-it-is I'm looking for, for the best price. Three times that was a S&W. Someday I hope it's a Colt, Beretta, CZ, or a Ruger. Or anything else that seems to be the best whatever-it-is I'm looking for, for the best price.

I have 5 handguns, and 3 are made by Beretta (a 92FS, a U22 Neos and a Stampede SAA clone). I do seem to like their stuff pretty well, but I have to admit, the .22 was a gift, and the Stampede was on a closeout special from Sportsman's Warehouse for $299. Pretty hard to beat eh?

At some point you don't. To have a bunch, say over 20, you have to appreciate them for other reasons beyond shooting whether its heirloom, memory with the gun, rarity, value, history, etc. At least thats how I feel....I have only around 10 that get shot frequently the rest I look at and read about and play around with, etc.

I've had some loyalty by type......

For single action army - 2 Ruger New Vaquero's (because they last forever)
For lever guns - 2 Marlin 1894's
For pump shotguns - 2 Winchester 1897's
For snubbie's - 2 S&W's - 637 and 642-2
For casual carry - 2 Khar's - CW9 and PM9
For plinking - 2 Ruger's - MkII and MkIII Hunter

After that I fall apart.....
For 1911's - 1 Remington Rand circa 1946 and 1 Kimber Pro Carry II
Oddball 9's - M&P9 Pro and Ruger SR9C (Not a match, but they replaced 3 Glock's - 17,19&34)
Loose change - Keltec P32 cause it's really easy to carry

No matter were you go, were you've been, one thing that will stand the test of time is simple. You can go to any third world S@#t hole in the world and talk to people that haven't seen ice or a tooth brush. Even the bible talks about the ends time and a universal language. Any clues yet??? In 1873 a $20.00 gold piece could buy you one, and today, that $20 gold piece will still buy you one.

COLT

You know the Dodge Challenger commerical with Pres. Washington, the only thing better, would have been him carrying a 1911 or a 1873 SAA.

I just realized!! How Loyal I am.

 I just realized that am Loyal to EVERY company out there. :barf:
all if 18 different brands. Plus, only 4 firearms are same kind of 2 brands., 2 FN's (SCAR 12 and 5.7 pistol) and 2 savages, also rifle and pistol. :)
