Bought a new Diamondback DB9

I canceled the "anodized" slide DB9 order.

However, I am still interested in these stupid things and if I can't come to reason in the next day, I'll plunk down for a stainless slide.

Ugh.

Ha! We all have our addictions!

I won't criticize since I have my share of "range only" guns, & project guns too!

Just did it.

Repurchased with the regular stainless steel slide.

I was looking at a cart with an LC9s stainless and the DB9 stainless. I can't help but think my LCP would be pointless if the DB9 worked, so might as well try and get the Bud's warranty if it doesn't.

We shall see what this brings :)

I've always wanted to like that gun. Hoping you have good luck with it. Have to imagine most of them work or why would they still be in business?

Let us know how it works out for you.
They're said to be built a lot like a glock.. I think I heard they will accept glock sights.

It sounds like they "work" but with high feed failure rates.

I'll post pics up with my LCP. At the very least it will show why I was interested. :D

Stainless steel cannot be anodized. Galvanized steel & zinc can be anodized.SS is generally phosphate coated.
Anodize is for aluminum.
T iodize is for titanium.

No, they're said to look a lot like a Glock. If they were built like a Glock their reputation wouldn't be that they are unreliable and prone to failure.

I've posted before when the DB9 topic has come up, and I'll say again that I have two of them and neither has given me any problems. I think I must've gotten lucky.

I've been interested in their .380 for a long time, because I've never handled another tiny .380 that feels near as good in my hand. But I've been so put off by all the reports of their unreliability, that I've never taken the chance on buying one. My local dealer is pretty cool, and I've thought about offering to buy one if I could put a box or two of ammo through it first, to make sure it was a good one.

I doubt that your lgs will do this for you. if you don't buy it he won't be able to sell it as new.

He said the Diamondback representative comes through to visit his shop fairly often since he lives locally. Might be able to swing a deal via the rep rather than expecting my dealer to take the chance.

Your Kidding, right?

Your [sic] Kidding, right?

No, I'm not kidding. This may not be standard practice elsewhere, but on different occasions I've had both of my local dealers offer to step out back and rap off a couple shots to test out a gun I was interested in- they are the ones who brought it up in the first place. One with a new gun, and one used. And if the factory rep is there with a whole truck load of guns to show off, I'd say it's even more likely to happen if he wants to make sales & make inroads with the local market.

I spend a lot of time in local gun stores and big box gun stores too. I have seen factory reps doing special promotions from time to time. I have never seen a factory rep with a "truck load of guns"to show off. Gun stores order their inventory from distributors who carry multiple brands.
