question
Since several member have a much better legal education then I do, Can someone answer this question, Isn't there some kind of verdict that says, yes, we agree he did it, but we find him not guilty (anyway)?
Is this an urban myth? or is it something that actually exists in law, but is only applicable to ??? OR is it actually something that exists, and is just generally unknown or not used?
This is a serious question, as I have heard for many years about jury nullification, and have heard many arguments, some for , others saying it doesn't exist. I would just like to hear from anyone with real world experience, in order to further my understanding.
As far as the case under discussion, based on what has been covered here, I would say, the punishment seems excessive. Aren't there manslaughter convictions that have smaller sentences? Maybe not, didn't the Enron guy just get 25 years for "insider trading"?
