That's your opinion, forte, and I pay no heed to it. Contrary to your blind assumption, I am NOT a "believer" nor do I currently own a bible, but they can be bought cheaply at Wal-Mart. Also contrary to your opinion, it's a GREAT idea - who would suspect a bible of holding a flaming instrument of instant judgement and death?

Possible sacrilege aside, it's a horrible idea. People have been known to stash money in Bibles, and some people think that it's so obvious that no one would ever look...except that everyone knows it's too obvious for a criminal, and so every criminal knows to check it out. Too clever by half.

The book you pick needs to be nondescript, or at least blend in. Unless you feel like stocking an entire shelf with Christian books, the Bible's going to stick out. Depending on what you do and what your hobbies are, you may have textbooks, medical guides, shop manuals, etc.; hollow one of those out.

Besides, the Word of God is already a sword, and there have been precious few guns concealed within swords throughout history.

This isn't for a stash piece, it's for carry, like a day planner. DUH.

The what? Well, I'll take my gun over that sword any day.
Using a bible for this is no different than using any other fairy tale/fiction book IMO.
Thanks, hoy! Logic prevails and I fear the bible-thumpers are hijacking this thread.
