Bolt Action 22 Tube Fed

My first rifle was a Revelation tube-fed bolt-action 22 in a wood stock. I think I would like another 22 in this platform. All of the new bolt actions I see are detachable mag fed and most are in plastic stocks. Who made guns like I am looking for? I know about the Remington 512 and 582. Anybody else make similar guns? If I have to settle I could probably live with a 10 round detachable mag, but I want the wood stock and no 5 or 7 round mags. Actually the 10 round mag might be better because now as I remember, the little lip thing that held the tube in could get bent and break off.
 
Marlin does, or did make the 981 series, but it has a synthetic stock. If its not made now, should be plenty out there either used, or probably a few NOS. Ive seen threads on other forums discussing replacing the factory stock with a wood stock, but there is no exact replacement that I know of. Btw, I do own a 981T and very satisfied with it.
 
My dad grew up on a Revelation as did I. Those are awesome rifles. Still got it!!! I don't know of any tube fed .22 bolt actions that are currently in production. Most are now magazine fed. I can think of CZ's, Anschutz(sp?), Ruger, Savage, and Marlin just off the top of my head. I've got a Savage MKII with the bull barrel and a very large scope that has outshot several of my AR buddies at the 100yd range. Not a lot of upgrades for them though.
 
mxsailor803: What was the model# and specifics of your Revelation? I think mine was 110, but I am not sure.
 
Worn out lol. My dad was given it when he was 7 (he's 63 now) and carried up until about 3 years ago when he got a Ruger 10/22. The main thing I remembered about the rifle was the safety got a little loose (but still passed the drop test), and it had the floating chamber for S, L, and LR. Now it looks almost silver from all the carrying and handling and a lot of the writing is not readable. It could very well be a 110.
 
You really can't do much better than a good-condition Rem 512 (actually, try for the 512-X version as it has factory scope groves).

Doyle is correct. I got a Remington 512x last year for $100. Its excellent. Simply deadly accurate.
 
The Remington 512 has a proud history, but they are very old and heavily used in the used gun market these days. I have ventured out twice and purchased 512s. Neither would feed very well and required parts. One simply would not group. A range member purchased one about three years ago and it will not feed either, but it is accurate, so he uses it as a single shot.

I recommend you find a new Marlin if you can. Here is my Marlin 81 TS:

Winchester 72

See if you can find an old winchster 72. These were discontinued in 1959 but are pretty common. Some of the later models may have grooved receivers. Very accurate guns with S, L, LR feeding capabilities..
