BLR assistance, help me choose

OK, I admit it, I have issues....
I want a BLR, but the rifle I have selected is unobtanium! I want to buy a LWT BLR TD in .308 and no one has them. Even Browning told me about a year. ???
If you don't understand Browning speak, I want a Light Weight, Browning Lever Rifle, Take Down.
I don't really want another caliber (more on that). It has to be take down. The black label or whatever won't do, its Fugly! It will be a hunting rifle, so unlike the black label it has to come wearing iron sights.
OK, as to the caliber, I want .308 for a selfish reason, I don't want another caliber unless I have to, as can't get a .308 in under a year. Tomorrow would be great though.
If I had to go with anything else, I CAN find what I want in .358 Winchester. No longer action, `06, not in .243. They are available too, but someone talk me into .358.
What would you do? Order and wait ( I don't want to though)? Keep shopping the interwebs? Or just suck it up and buy the .358 Win?
Guy's Im usually not High Maintenance, but this rifle I hope will become an heirloom.

I'd wait on a 308. The 358 looks good at the muzzle, but there is nothing a 358 will kill at close range that a 30-30 wouldn't kill just as well. A 308 loaded with heavier 200 gr bullets will do everything a 358 will do up close and the more aerodynamic bullets will have more energy at ranges of around 200 yards or farther. Ammo is a lot cheaper and easier to find with options for lighter bullets.

Well played Lads, well played. I guess I should wait.
To make matters worse than they are now. I neglected to mention something.
I was in a Cabelas store, last week in Winnipeg Canada. They had 7 of the guns I want in stock. Zero available here in the USA now, 7 in one store there.

Just a thought. Talk to the gun counter manager atnyour local Cabelas about an interstore transfer. It may not be possible being international. But it can't hurt to ask.

Kind of refreshing to find a new member asking about a firearm that actually knows what he wants.

It would drive me crazy to be told I have a one year wait to get the gun of my dreams and then see seven (!) of them in a Winnipeg Cabelas store just waiting to be sold!

I'd try to get Cabelas to do a store to store transfer too.

Good luck.

I'd try to get Cabelas to do a store to store transfer too.

That would be an importation, not a simple interbranch stock transfer.
Since I am originally Canadian, ( Lived in the USA for most of my life ) I guess I could take the possession and acquisition licensing class, buy the rifle and then USA, ATF form 6 and import it to myself. This would be the only Legal way of taking possession of the rifle. A Huge pain in the ^$$.
I just want to order it from say Bud's, have it sent to my FFL and buy the darn rifle, Yikes.
I guess I will get a Browning dealer to order it and then wail longer than a Title II transfer.
