Bloomburg Presidency

If Bloomberg enters the presidential race and actually appears on the national ballot, he will take votes away from the Democrat and insure a Republican victory, JMO.
I don't know about the "insure" part, but otherwise I agree. He isn't going to be siphoning off any gunny votes.

If Paul or Thompson don't appear on the ballot, maybe I'll write in Tamara. That is, I could if she had a last name. :)

If a bill comes across my desk that doesn't include a photocopy of the Constitution with the relevant Congressional authority highlighted in yellow, it's vetoed, baby!

Who's with me?
BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA zomg that's absolutely brilliant. you've got my vote!

As if the thought of Hilary wasn't enough to give us all nightmares, now we gotta worry about if this egomaniac will buy himself another public office.

It's fun to imagine. If he got in the race and Hillary were the Dem nominee which no sane Dem hopes for, and no one in their right mind will vote Rep for another generation, he could be our next president.

On the other hand, if he does jump in, Gore might see the opportunity and throw his ample cog in the gears. This could be fun. The country being pretty much screwed for the rest of my days, may as well enjoy politics as seriously as football.

When Bloomburg was being talked about before, it was in the context of the other Democratic candidates weren't working out. Then he would come in and "rescue the party" and go on to spend massive money and win. But that doesn't seem to be what people are talking about now. The Democratic Party has two strong nominees with others standing by. And Bloomburg appears to be talking Independent. That's weird.

His actual policy positions have always matched the Democratic Party and not the GOP. Once his positions were exposed nationally, he wouldn't get ANY votes from GOP voters. But he might well appeal to Democratic or leftist voters who were dissatisfied with the existing candidates. So yes, I think his Independent candidacy would be a disaster for the Democrats in 2008. He WOULD force the debate into areas that could be interesting.

I could see circumstances where he wins as a Democrat. It would take several miracles for him to win as an Independent.

If you will really kneecap Putin and PROMISE to put Imadinnerjacket in a headlock, you've got my vote. But only if you make him cry like a little girl.

Oh yeah, you have to make OBL shave before you stretch his neck.

and no one in their right mind will vote Rep for another generation

I FEEL like I'm in my right mind. I WILL be voting GOP in 2008. If Bush was running for re-election, that would be a problem. As long as Mr. NYC and/or Mr. Mass doesn't win the nomination, I'll be voting GOP.

The GOP just needs a candidate who can appeal to the middle. He doesn't have to have the mush political views of the middle. Just appear to be someone they can trust and believe. If the Democrats are determined to stake out the far left, that leaves a lot of room in the middle. You just can't move so far to the middle that you lose your support on the right. That's exactly what would happen with those two NE candidates. I'm not voting for either one of those guys. But you put in a guy like Thompson against Hillary or Obama, he could VERY well pull it off!

I guess everything is relative. It's hard to imagine anyone would reward them for the things they've done the last seven years and then you looks up and see Bush still gets 26-32% approval. At the range I've been saying those are the people that should be deported instead of illegals and it usually gets a laugh.
:p

When it's all you've got, your Jennings/Bryco .25 is your best gun. The Republicans might be inaccurate, unreliable, and underpowered, but they're still better than throwing rocks.
