Bloomberg Magazine: Gun Control is Dead

Not dead, rather they realize the head on frontal assaults they have tried in the past don't work. Instead they will resort to flank attacks, nibbling aroubnd the edges, guerilla warfare.

the desire of the left for gun control is not dead. We should all disabuse ourselves of any thoughts that the opposition has, or will ever, give up on their goal to disarm Americans.

Total disinformation campaign. This is a common tactic used by progressives, and statists, and don't be fooled, that is exactly the mentality we are dealing with. Divide, and conquer, then lure us into a false sense of security, them before you know it they are voting your rights away at midnight behind closed doors, like in NYS, or declaring marshal law in New Orleans, and confiscating your guns.

As Glenn mentioned, the key to our long-term survival is to widen our base. A certain degree of satisfaction may be gained by preaching to the choir or denigrating those who don't agree with us, but such behaviors only insulate us more. Labels like leftist and fascist, besides being grossly inaccurate, don't help in the least.

That's a hint, folks.

Unfortunately, some in the gun world like the righteous defeat and then whining and ranting as compared to progress.

This was seen clearly in the past shall issue debates where some folks opposed them as all we needed was the 2nd Amend. That sunk shall issue in some states for a bit.

Similarly, the open carry folks have threatened to sabotage other gun legislation if they didn't get open carry.

the art of compromise, has been compromised, if you will, by the total intransigence of the anti gun left. They NEVER give an inch.
That some folks opt to hang with their beliefs, in the face of certain defeat, rather than compromise, is always worth a tip of the hat.
