Blanks

Apparently not the red wasps we have around here. Yellow Jackets maybe.

I have taken down both red wasps and yellow jackets this way. Nests about the size of a hand. Nothing left after the blast, the nest is gone, the wasps are gone, there is some snot like goo behind the nest that used to be wasps and their larvae. Absolutely no survivors.
It goes to show just how much potential for destruction even a blank charge has.
80 grains of black powder in a 12 gauge and an overshot card (optional). You could likely get similar results with a .58 musket.
 
^^^^hehe I think I'll try this with the Kentucky Rifle. Got a few Big Nasty Red Wasps nests already on me shed. Maybe I'll video it and post it up.

BTW, in the spirit of the OP, those wasp nests make excellent wadding for blanks also. They turn into confetti, and don't catch fire easily.
