Black Panthers March with "Assault Rifles"

We discuss complicated and emotional issues here. Let us all grow thick skins. We should be able to argue forcefully and plainly here, without taking or giving offense, entering and leaving as friends. I value the words and community of all of you, whether I agree with you or not. If one of us were to leave, the remainder would reflect the loss.

That said, what exactly would be the downside of an RKBA alliance that crosses racial and ideological lines? What thugisms have the new Black Panthers committed (besides the stretch HumVee)?

Um, "thugs?"

Why?

The original Panthers of '68-'69, in Oakland… standard kit was an M1 Carbine and a black beret. And yes, many of them were thugs despite their political banners.

But why is this current crop "thugs?" Who'd they mug or assault?

Wow, I didn't realize my post would cause such spirited debate. :) I think the fact that the black panthers were armed, prevented violence between them and the Klan. What do you guys think? Was anyone from TFL there in Texas? Comments?

The first step is registration, the second step is confiscation, the final step is subjugation.
