bipod

I don't have a problem taking my 'Harris clone' out in the field. LK--why do you see the clones as a pos? Are you talking weight, finish, durability? I think I can live with the first two for half the price...Durability is Tbd.

I didn't say the clones were POS's. I said short, non swiveling bipods (big emphasis on swiveling, height is more subjective) were POS's and being a clone wasn't gonna help things at all. Personally I have no experience with the clones. They look all right, it's a pretty basic design, I don't see them being all that fragile, don't have a clue about weight compared to the Harris. But what I see is a new shooter walking into walmart, bass pro, etc. seeing these short, bubble wraped bipods and saying "What a great deal" when in reality unless he is strictly using it at a firing range he just thru away his money.

I do stand corrected. I was confusing the Shooters Ridge bipods with the clones from Walmart. I know the ones from Walmart don't swivel but I don't have information if the Shooters Ridge bipods do. Do they?

I bench 100% of the time with a Rem. 700 LTR 20" brl. 308 Cal. Harris is the first choise with almost everyone . I had a harris on my 308 changed to a Versa pod I am much happier, Check them out. Chris

I don't understand what the big deal about swivelling is. I have a Harris that swivels and 4 that don't and I don't like the "S" model nearly as much as the standard base. If a shot on game is far enough that I NEED the bipod, I have plenty of time to adjust the legs themselves to compensate for uneven ground.
