best value for semi auto shotgun

Looking to buy a semi auto shotgun to add to the collection. I was hoping i can get some suggestions for one that new goes for less then 600 and maybe i can find a used one around 350-400. Barrel length isnt a factor either. Thanks in advance for your help

i looked at a CZ the other day for $575. Very pretty gun but I cant comment on its operation. I am also in the market for a SA 12ga. In your range you may have to go to the used market, that way you will be able to get a much better quality gun for your money. Remington, Beretta come in around mid $600's and up.

I have 2 Benelli M-1's bought used. One for $600 the other $700. Saw a guy walking around at the last gunshow carring one just like mine asking $700. I'd bet if someone showed him six $100 bills he would have taken it Look on the used gun racks.

If you have to buy new I had good luck with a Stoeger 2000 I owned for a while. Hear good things about the Mossberg, but have no personal experience.

Beretta 3901, beyond a shadow of a doubt. It's equal to many a $1000 shotgun but costs $600 - you're getting well more gun than what you pay.

Mossberg 930, gander mountains selling them in a comp stock with a 26 in vent rib barrel for around 450, or you can get combo models with two barrels for around 525.

I have one and have had nothing but good results. I have compared to remington 1100 in comp stock and imho the mossberg is the better shooter

Hands down, the Beretta 3901. Nothing even comes close...

The only auto loader I can personally justify is the Mossberg 930 in Blue and Walnut field grade gun...

I have never owned or even fired one but I have read far too many exemplary reviews and they seem to be handling the cheapest of junk promo rounds just fine while still doing a 3 incher reliably...

:D

I've had a number of people try to buy this one... I had the length of pull adjusted for me and added a thin pad... Works great on targets and birds... I've shot it in the rain and hunted with it when it was 114 out with blowing grit in Arizona...

I'm with my friends, Slugo and 300WM, on this one. The B-3901 offers a lot of bang for the buck in a budget auto-loader.

a good used rem 1100 can be had for 275-400 dollars and there are boat loads of parts and accessries(barrels, stocks). i have a older 1100 that i shoot and also lend out and i clean the magizine tube and wipe the inside of the action out every 600 rounds or so and i don,t remember the last time it failed to work with mostly light trap loads. the only down side is its a little heavy for all day hunting, but its made of steel. eastbank.

Between the 930 and 3901, the 3901 hands down. The hard chrome gas system, barrel, and shell lifter alone(possibly lifter only on the 390) is my deciding factor. The 930 is a slightly better value at >$500 New, but I have bought two 390s for $525 NIB, Walmart versions, but the made in Italy no shell cutoff model. I have both and the 390 is probably the best gas shotgun readily available today.

If Mossberg would toss the chrome piston and magazine tube of the JM version in the street model 930, then they would have a serious contender.

I like my 930s, but I love the 390s!

Only one I have experience with is the CZ 712, and it seems to work perfectly. :) A buddy just bought a base model 712 for $540 and change.
