Best storage for self-defense gun?

I guess I should have added a 5th item: Comfortable. Not on my person.

Seems that having a firearm on my person 24/7 would be very uncomfortable - it would have be soft, cuddly, waterproof, and inconspicuous. Sounds like it would have to be a very curvaceous female bodyguard. (Anybody watch "VIP" or "Xena"?) My wife would definitely object!

Besides, being armed 24/7 might appear to be a little paranoid/obsessive. I don't need it that bad - I live in Utah Valley, UT after all! Not exactly a high crime area.

I use my Armloc Magnum for both keeping the gun in the bedroom locked up and for traveling.

It has both a combination lock and a key lock; you can use either or both. No battery required to use the locks, though there is a little light that helps you see the combination lock that takes a battery.

I think it's a little slower than the kind where you slide your onto the buttons, but that's ok with me.

RHC -- The Armloc case looks like what I'm looking for. How big is it, and how much does it weigh? I'd like to be able to pack it inside my luggage. Also, do you know if it is approved for airline travel, if it's locked inside a hardshell suitcase? Thanks!

My safe is great cause it doen't look like a safe. It looks like a fancy clock radio... that's because it IS in fact a fancy clock radio.. (gets great reception)

Has a keypad that backlights when you first touch it, inside is lit by red LED's to preserve night vision. Holds my 45 and three clips and more. Has a battery backup..
See it at www.gammaiii.com

I am just a satisfied customer... I have NO interest in the company.
