Best slug gun for < $225

what would be the best slug gun i can get for 225? I would like to get an auto but none are in this price range. So that leaves me with pumps and single shots. I have looked at the Mossberg 500 and pardner pump slug guns. Any others i should be looking at? Would i be better off getting something used? Are the H&R ultra slug hunters accurate/reliable shotguns?
Im going to scope this so something with out irons is prefered but not manditory.

Can soneone explain the differences (other than the obvious) between 20ga and 12ga slugs?

Im guess a 225$ gun in 2006 is a 300$ or so gun now.If i was buying a slug gun for deer hunting.Around that price range the H&R Ultra slug hunter would be the bee"s knees.. Next up would be the savage 220f bolt action 20 ga slug gun..But then your getting into the 500 to 600$ range.A 200$ CVA optima break action muzzle loader with fiber optic rifle sights is a great option for deer as well..But many states very on the slug versus muzzleloader seasons..Here in ohio Slug guns an muzzleloader share a season.An muzzleloaders get a additional 4 days to thereselves
