Best semi auto 7.62x51 .308?

WHich one is better?

I have had my H&K 91 since 1981 and have never even thought about selling it or trading it. But, I would love to own a M1A full rifle and a SOCOM version as well. The Socom is a little easier to manuever than the full size.

I think what we all need here is for the Rifle companies to send us a couple hundred of each model to test (with a LOT of ammo!) and we could let them know which ones we preferred!

Anybody know a Springfield rep thats easily persuaded?
:D

by the way!

Hey I forgot to tell you.

If you run into a Garrad that someone is trying to sell you cheap, get it. I think that would be a great addition to anyones home defense fund.

This Cetme is a nice rifle in your price range.

For accuracy I would think the AR style in .308 would be the most accurate. Design wise I love the M1A and the FN FAL type rifles. If I was in the market for one it would be either a M1A or FAL. I wouldnt be buying it expecting sub moa groups. Just a cool rifle to shoot and have. I have other guns for the moa stuff.

this was the first type rifle i was issued when i went into the service, its a early five line SA M1A 7.62 and it shoots as good as the M14,only its semi-auto. eastbank.

You may find a person looking to quickly sell an M1A but in your price range you have limited options. I would suggest looking for a used PR-91 or new Saiga.
