+1 on Cor-Bon DPX.

They feed well in my guns, in various calibers (primarily .45acp but others, too); they aren't punishing to shoot; they tend to have a very close POI/POA. Based on published data, they do well at intermediate barrier penetration, and expand reliably. And Cor-Bon has excellent CS.

I use Federal HST 180gr in my .40. Got lucky and found two 50 round boxes for $24 each.

Not sure why, but my HSTs don't have silver cases, just normal brass.

My LCP uses Golden Sabers, will likely switch to Gold Dots because of core jacket separations I have heard about.

There's far more vairiation in human structure in both tissue types and size and build of the BGs. Than there is between all the bullets mentioned here. That saiid I've had good luck with golddots feeding and shooting well in all my guns.

HST seems to be gaining favor as the darling of the LEO community. I know several agencies in my area are using them now. My department is also issuing them.

Personally I carry Winchester Ranger Bonded 147gr 9mm. It feeds reliably and I can get them at decent prices without a hassle.

My top three choices are Winchester Ranger Bonded, Federal HST, and Winchester Ranger T. They work and I can get them at a good price.

Like everybody else said, use what works in your gun. All of the modern designs should do the job.

Other: Hornady TAP. I use the 155gr XTP bullet which is a phenominal bullet for both accuracy and expansion. In my very informal scientific tests the XTP performed more consistently than Hornady Critical Defense, Gold Dots, and PDX-1s.

I echo most people here...find what works best in your gun and run that.

Cal. & gun type have to be taken into consideration. I'm a wheelgunner, so for me it's "Other" ..... 38+p Fed. "old line" NYCLAD SWCHP 158grn. or 158grn. +P LSWC. Penetration is most important, especially with snub nose weapon. In summer, I "might" go with GD short bbl. or PDX1 since clothing is usually minimal. Of course............. "I'M OLD SCHOOL". :p:D

Oh BTW - I still have boxes and boxes of Nyclad because I read a magazine article where Evan Marshall said it was the best (among those rounds mentioned in the article anyway).

No vote for me. I think this poll is more of a popularity contest with what each person prefers.

For me it's Winchester 180gr PDX-1 40 S&W in my Springer XD-40 Sub, and Hornady Critical Defense in my Elsie Pea.
What matters is what functions flawlessly, and is accurate in your individual firearm.
