QUOTE]You left out one very effective combo,40 S&W/357 sig.In all but single stack guns, all that's required is a barrel swap...[/QUOTE]
I was an avid collector up to my S&W 1076 purchase (@ the time I got married and all purchases where halted due to economic reasons). Some 10 years went by without a purchase, about the same time these cartridges came to the scene.
I have very little first hand experience with said calibers except shooting a couple of mags sporadically here and there. The main reason I included the 10mm/.40 is I was researching to buy a 610 Classic Hunter pre lock and stumbled upon S&W new 10mm revolvers. Thought it could be nice to add a new 610, a .40 for the wife (any suggestions?) and a CC (I also looked at the 310 Night Guard.)
It's quite scary. One of those examples that you have to look and feel different guns until you find the one that fits you like a glove. She shoots better with it than me.
Thinking about those .45 too. Like Nate45 suggested, a 1911 and a revolver for CC.
I won't get rid of my other guns, just adding two or three new ones.

Sounds like your wife likes and shoots the 36 well enough to trust it for her house gun. True?

Your overall concept is flawed. Limiting by cartridge makes no sense
