"Best" pocket .380?

New game folks: Which is your favorite pocket .380? My vote goes to the Ruger LCP. The Kel Tec may be lighter, but the slight thumb rest and nicer checkering makes the Ruger more comfortable for me. The Smith & Wesson Bodyguard has better sights, but the integral laser (which would be much better with a pressure switch instead of the constant on) makes it bulkier than it needs to be. The new Kimber and the Sig P238 are definately sexy, but heavier and pricey. Ditto for the Mustang (don't even get me started on the plastic one.) I admit that I don't know much about the baby Glock or the Beretta Pico. Okay, sound off!

Ruger LCP. For a combination of price, mechanical accuracy, reliability, concealability, and accessory availability, nothing comes close.

Wife has a purple LCP. She loves it. I don't. Too small for my hand & I don't shoot it comfortably. Bersa Thunder fits my hand better but it isn't much of a "pocket" gun.
I haven't tried any other ones.

J frame (or Ruger LCR) is the best pocket pistol ever made, so I would think the Taurus 380 revolver would be the best 380 pocket gun ever

I do have a Colt Mustang and S&W Bodyguard 380 and they are both nice. Honestly there are so many good ones, that a best is just preference. Mainly depends on what type of gun you like. Hammer, Striker, SA, ect

I'm not a fan of the .380 in these days of pocket 9mm supremacy but a really nice one is going away soon that I may pick up. The Sig P232 due to a German export ban to the US is in "now or never" situation. It's not the most pocketable, more like the size and weight of the Walther PP. But it will no doubt go up in value over time what with a finite supply much like pre 1986 transferable machine guns and Colt Pythons and HK P7's. You can read more about it in the following SigTalk thread.

Which do you like better, blued or stainless?

The only one I have experience with is an LCP, which I find to be unpleasant to shoot and difficult to shoot accurately.

I don't mind, because it fills the "vest pocket .25 equivalent" niche well, and it is reliable.

I don't know about best, but my P3AT is so good that I see no reason to look for another one. The last time I checked it was the smallest & lightest one available, it was affordable, and it has been 100% reliable for several years.

It is not fun to shoot, but it gets the job done and I can conceal it easily while wearing the most minimal clothing. These are my preferences, and I go for the highest on the list that fits my clothing and activities for that day:

snub 44
snub 38
P3AT

The P3AT was never the smallest. It is thin and light though. I don't see what qualifies it as best.

As I have mentioned before, I took my wife to look at an LCP and she decided on a Sig P238. I had to run home for more money, but the little Sig is very comfortable to shoot, in part due to the extra mass absorbing recoil. She is quite satisfied with her choice, and I enjoy the pistol as well.

But her choice made it the best choice for her. I don't believe there is any such thing as the best. Different strokes and all that.

Having had a bunch (had being the operative word), I cast my vote to the Kahr P380, which is second to my Colt Pony Pocketlite. Both easy to shoot and very smooth.

I have owned:
--Two Kel-Tec P3ATs. Both were total POSs. I have posted elsewhere on them...do a search.
--Two Ruger LCPs. Both worked perfectly...but my lack of faith in the .380 cartridge led me to sell them.
--One Kahr CW380. Works perfectly with factory ammo, but I am (so far) unable to build handloads that make it happy. May be the gun, may be the ammo.

Again, leads me to believe that .380 is not for me.

Could be the wrong conclusion....I am going to keep working on .380 ammo. And as much as I hate to say so, I may buy another LCP.

I have no desire to pocket carry, and really no need for a mouse gun. But a walther PPK or a Kimber micro raptor have been talkin to me lately
