This, in a 2" Colt Detective Special

Back when I had my 1950's vintage Colt Cobra, I carried standard pressure 110gr Hornady Critical Defense out of deference to the old aluminum frame. Now that I've switched over to an all-steel S&W M36, I carry Remington 158gr LSWCHP +P with Speer 135gr +P Short Barrel Gold Dot being my second choice.

My carry ammo is of the +P variety (Gold Dot Short Barrel) however, I will also carry standard pressure ammo if need be. Some of my preferred standard pressure loads are: Hornandy 125 gr JHP, GA 158 gr LSWCJH and Federals 125 gr JHP.

I've fired a few boxes of the buffalo bore standard pressure in the past and I've found it to have as much or more felt recoil than any other +P round out there.

Now my old 640, all steel S&W .38 Spl., I use Cor-bon 158gr LSWHPs as I have several boxes of 'em!

Now I also own a S&W .38 Airweight Centennial as well as the 'TI' .357 340SC Centennial.

I did find the Cor-Bon 158s, after 4 rounds, the last round had the slug slightly pulled forward (yes it pulls the bullet.)

So I need to find a load that works best for this little monster. The 340, with night sights, and some cool wood grips, shoot well but it just kicks like heck to! Maybe the Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel Ammunition 38 Special +P 135 (If I ever see it in stock.)

Great thing is my handload, 158gr LSW with 3.5 grs. of American Select, shoots real well for me in both my airweights. So maybe after Congress gets the DHS to stop hording ammo we will see some show up on the shelves.

One of these days I may have to try and find some of that Buffalo Bore 158 non +p stuff.
Until then, I'll stick with the Gold Dot 135 +p Short Barrel stuff.

I really want to give the GDSB a try in my LCR, but can't find It anywhere around here, or my normal on line sources. Do you have a line on somewhere that has it?

The GDSB can usually be found online but these are not usual times. Perhaps when the Great Ammo Shortage of 2013 is over, you can find some.
