Best line used for buying yet another firearm

What's your best line to convince your wife or girl friend that "we" really need another firearm. And for the gals out there, do you need a line to convince your guy and if so, what have you tried.

Something like, "Honey, I love you so much and I want you safe. There is no price to high that I wouldn't spend to protect you dear...."

So, what's your line. One you have used, or one that you think would be funny.
 
In our marriage, neither one of us has to ask the other for permission to make personal purchases like guns, tools, sewing machines, etc. She uses her money to get what she wants, I use mine to get what I want. Large items such as cars and major home improvements are a joint decision since they usually require contributions from both of us. We treat each other as responsible adults who make responsible choices. It seems to work well for us.
 
We are 'low subterfuge' here. We shoot, hunt and talk about guns so it'd be pretty hard for one of us to fox the other one, about new iron finding it's way in the door.
 
Ah, this was supposed to be fun. Unless, of course, I know, your wife reads the forum and you have to say what your saying. I get it! ;) Nudge nudge wink wink.
 
When the wife and I were just starting out, she asked me "how many guns do you plan to own?" (I had 5 back then, I think)

And I told her, "I'm not greedy, I'll settle for one of each!"

So now, 30+ years later, and I still don't have "one of each", but I do have quite a few. And they're all different....well, ok,except for the two sets of matched Ruger SAs, and the 4 identical S&W M28s, the 3 Rem 600 .308s...and...) same gun in different chamberings is different, right?

Anyway, I don't use a line to get her permission. These days when I go to a show without her (and thats not that common) when I get back I hear "what did you get this time?" And then I show her. Mostly I get a "hmm thats nice" or "pretty wood". I really like it when she says "oohhh pretty!"

I'm still waiting for the "oh nice, thanks! now go get something for yourself!"
Hasn't happened yet, but I think someday it might.:D
 
You see Honey, guns are like shoes. You have 6 pair alone that look identical to me but I've learned that they are actually completely different and each pair is totally necessary. I never see you wear most of them and they take up half of the closet but it would be silly of me to ask you to chuck some or stop buying new ones. And I would never do that to you. Now this AR is entirely different from those other 3. It has a completely different purpose and I'm going to put a totally different scope on it. So of course I need it. Geez you can look at them and tell they're not the same. :D

I can go with just "I'm buying it" but the other way gets more laughs. Nothing like a laugh from a good looking woman.
 
"It's for the zombies" (with apologies to TFL staff, I know it's not Halloween, but that's exactly what I've said a few times)

Ugg boots or Coach purses.........damn they're almost as expensive as the gun! :eek:

"It was on sale" works sometimes too. My wife loves to shop and appreciates a good bargain............

personally i have never understood this philosophy, we treat any money as "OUR" money, no such thing as yours and mine.

when it comes to guns my wife encourages me to "invest" in more, i always look for high dollar guns at low ball prices. i just tell her i found a good deal and she says, buy it !! and i do :D
 
If I don't have enough in my rathole and can't wait for a lay away. I buy it anyways knowing she will want a diamond something before I get another one (that she knows about).
 
1) I could always use one more
2) or buy a gun cabinet and have it so there are more slots than there are guns which goes back to number 1.
 
TNT just gave me my excuse to get a new gun safe!!! lol Of course once I get it I can hide a couple more guns in with all the others because "they all look the same" so there's no way she can tell them apart.

Never had to do this ever. I buy what I want, she does the same altho she did ask me why I didnt buy 2 of the colt new agent 45s :) she wants one
