Best “feeling” handgun …

It’s subjective, and therefore there is clearly no wrong answer … But what is the best feeling handgun in your collection?

I know for me it’s my Sig 232; which bites cuz I wish it was say … a .357Sig vs. the .380acp that it really is. Still it’s the best feeling/pointing gun I got. How about you?

Sig P220...hands down (fits like a custom made glove). But, ironically, its not my "go to" weapon as its just too damn expensive to replace. So, I have opted to expose other weapons to the "wear and tear" thing. For this, the likes of the XD45 fits the bill nicely.

My Best “feeling” handgun hands down would have to be the Ruger Blackhawk in .45colt. Their is just something special about that feeling.

Odd that the first replies are from a Sig 220 owner followed by a Ruger owner! I am thinking of getting another handgun and am torn between the 220 and a Ruger (albeit a sp-101 .327 not the Blackhawk). Too much.

All of my handguns point pretty well/naturally for me. Some better than others.

I would have to say though that the best pointing guns are my S&W K Frames, and my 4" .38 Special Model 15-3 in particular.

Semi: Up until a couple of weeks ago, it was my Sig 239 SAS. Then I picked up a CZ 83 .380 and it is like an extension of my hand. It is by an order of magnitude the best gun I've ever shot, probably because it's a perfect fit to my hand.

For me...

... it would have to be the CZ75, followed by a tie between a bobtail 1911 and a SIG P220.

I guess it depends on which platform you prefer. Both guns you mentioned are indeed fine weapons. My suggestion is to go to your local gun dealer, try them both and then go from there. Keep in mind, although my Sig P220 felt very nice out of the box, I have since replaced the grips with Hogue aluminums. These are a bit more slim and much more aggressive in terms of texture and most certainly changed the "feel."

Regardless, in terms of fit, every Sig I have handled basically felt like it "belongs" in my hand. Of course, many revolvers have felt the same way. But then again, most revolvers fit well to begin with, IMHO. To me, finding a "well fitting" semi-auto is much more difficult.

Yeah I note that most folk like the feel/point ability of their revolvers! Grips do make a big difference for sure … but my 232 always feels good - Houge grip or stock.

I note too that folk like their single stack pistols ... wonder if a thinner grip is universaly more comfortable?

Nice looking Smith Jad1001

My Sig P229 Equinox in 40 caliber. Love the way it feels and I also have the .357 sig barrel. It feels great in my hand but a little harder to carry.

Now everyone hold up and let me qualify that :D

I also have a SW model 60. Easier to carry (smaller) and also feel good in my hand but not like the Sig.

I think this is one reason why my Sig fits better than my XD. But, the XD is still comfortable for a "double stack." Too bad the Sig is so expensive and thus, my only safe queen. Otherwise, it would be my primary weapon. But, again, the XD does the job without too many regrets. I mean, a double stack .45ACP that is remotely comortable? Well, the XD proves it can be done.
