Best Election Season Handgun?

Guns kill people??

As I saw on a "Gun owners of America T-shirt" once.

If guns kill people, then....

-pencils miss spel words.
-cars make people drive drunk.
-spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat.

I decided to buy the XD45 Tactical that I'd been considering getting for a long time, but that's one I would have bought anyway sooner or later. My AR and AK are my real election season guns. For the first time ever my wife actually encouraged me to make firearm purchases--thanks Barack!

Buy what you like just get enough high cap mags for it. I got a AK47 yesterday, not that I needed 1, I just didnt want anyone telling me I cant own one.

I agree with Tony that face to face with no paper trail is the best. I would also pick up a couple of Jennings .380s and a Llama .45 so that when they come for your guns you can turn those over to them. :)

What kpbeckel said is true to a point. I would be cautious yet not wait too long because then you won't be able to afford anything. If you find what you like at a reasonable price then go for it but I wouldn't get into the feeing frenzy and pay too much for stuff.

If you really want to get a handgun I would also suggest you get something that you already have or could get in a rifle caliber such as a 9mm, .40, .45acp carbine or a .44 mag, .45LC, .38/.357 lever action so that you have the same ammo. Then I would stock up on ammo. These are not the only pistol/rifle combos just a few off the top of my head.

If you've got the guns, I'd say focus on magazines, ammo & spare parts. If you need to buy a gun, buy one in a common caliber that's already in high demand and supply.

After the ATF requires all the dealers to send in copies of their sales forms; I expect gun owners will get a letter that reads somthing like this. "Our records indicate that you are in posession of the following firearms. Please mark yes or no. Any no answers, please explain how, where and to whom each firearm was disposed? On form two please declare any firearms obtained from non-ffl holders. A false answer to any of these questions is punishable by up to 5 years in prison and/or $25,000 in fines.

My wish list is hanging on to the guns I have under the most ani-gun President, anti-gun Congress, and without doubt, the most anti-gun Administration and Cabinet in the history of our country.

Not real wild about his new and ill defined "civilian security force", either.

Have to amit, though, I've taken a bit of a shine to the Sig Sauer 556., or one of the Colt M4 type AR's.:D I also like the new Ruger Mini 14 SSR (synthetic stock Ranch)

Might have to be content with my 2 "old" Mini 14's. Just ordered 4 20 rd. mags from Ruger's site about 3 days ago. They arrived today.

Ask any Illinois Gun Owner.

If you have any doubts as to the possibility of bans on weapons, just ask any Illinois gun owner. They have and are living the experience that appears that is going to be attempted to blanket the US. Also, research the history of various Illinois elected individuals as to their opinions and history relative to gun control.

Illinois, the home state of one of the most anti guns restrictions and home of most of the nation's die-hard anti-guns advocates.

Follow the news as to who and whom is appointed to the Federal level in the cabinet of appointments. To date, the very first one to be appointed is such an individual. Then do the math on the balance of the party in power, on the Federal level, their views and history relative to gun control.

I'm deployed right now so I can't buy anything, but I asked my wife to pick herself up a Glock 17 and four 17 rnd mags if they still have any leftof either!

I haven't seen anything written here saying what should be obvious. If all gun owners stick together, regardless of state, race, gender or religion, or preference of guntype and come to each others "rescue" by way of protest, civil disobedience, or whatever we can come up with I believe we will be fine. The problem is everyone will say "What can I do?" or "I don't want to go to jail". Nobody will go to jail if everybody protests. Jails are already overcrowded, and the gov't isn't prepared to start building new ones. Ask some one in the military, they don't want to kill American citizens. If the military won't act, and the police will be outnumbered by an enormous margin, what can the gov't do? If they see we are serious about not being denied our constitutional right, I believe they will have to backdown.
Have we forgotten why are forefathers came here? The gov't is supposed to work for us and it's time we let them know! Black people would have no rights if they hadn't got fed up and protested.
I for one am not going to give up what is mine, legally obtained and guaranteed under the same constitution that lets dirtbag losers protest outside of a brave and heroic American soldier's funeral! If we don't all stand together as one united front when the chips hit the fan we WILL loose.
So I say the best election season handguns are the ones we already own.

Well, since I already have a little SP101 3", I went out and picked up a something with a few more rounds to celebrate the election...M&P 9c. And I bought a box or two of ammo as a "vote with your dollars" statement. I wonder what they think when they see a lot of people stocking up just because they got into office...hmmm.
