Ditto. Springfield should be on the list above.

Anyway, I've only dealt with three companies with service issues.

Both Ruger and Springfield were outstanding.

Taurus, well, they were not so outstanding.

I've had good experiences with Ruger, Glock, and Kel-Tec. The latter's CS is very good, especially given the price point of their guns.

Other companies I have been very happy with: Midway USA, Missouri Bullets, and Georgia Arms.

I own more Kimber and S&W than everything else put togethjer.

I have never had occasion to avail myself of Kimber's CS (eight pistols owned so far), so I cannot comment on that.

My most-used pistols are my Kahr PM9 and P45. I have had one occasion to use Kahr's CS, and they exceeded my expectations. Definitely an A.

I have used Ruger's CS once, when they recalled my newly-purchased LCP over the Thanksgiving Holiday period two years ago. With a one week total time out of my hands, free magazine and hat, and shipping paid both ways...all during a holiday timeframe, I have to give them an A+.

I have used S&W's CS once (about a dozen revolvers and two pistols owned), and they were excellent. I'd give them an A.

I have used Springfield's several times (three pistols) and they were excellent, but took several tries to get it right. I'd give them an A.

I have used Kel-Tec's CS many times (4 pistols) and they sent free parts, although those parts did not generally fix the problems. I would give them an A for effort and a D for execution. I am done with K-T.

I have tried to contact Charles Daly and Colt. No response in either case. Ended up "doing it myself". I would give them an F...and I am done with Colt as well. CD goes without saying.

+1 on RCBS... just great service and I've called them several times over the years. Kel-Tec has provided great service on two occaisons when I lost small parts.

Springfield Armory is at the top of the list for me.

I inherited a "CCO" style pistol. The side of the feed ramp was being eaten by the slide, it was rusty and just the most worn out piece of crap. I sent it back and although it was still worn out, a good deal of the guts inside and the barrel had been replaced.

Knowing what I know now, I believe the barrel was probably a poorly fitted aftermarket piece of :barf: I kick myself for getting rid of it, too.

My recent experience with Colt ended quite well, but has left me totally unwilling to buy a new pistol from them. I bought an O1918 that was so far out of spec that it got a new slide and thumb safety on its first visit back home. Then it came back with a chewed up slide and a crooked front sight. The second time it came back, after raising hell and getting in touch with the product services manager, in less than two weeks total turnaround time and quite a gem -- much better than I would have expected it to be off the shelf.

My third customer service experience -- also with a 1911 -- was with Taurus. They were slow and not everything was right, but it was OK. They just needed to fire everyone down there they had answering phones at the time. They clearly didn't know what was going on and were either guessing or outright lying about the repair process.

I thought Ruger's job with their rash of recalls was spectacular. LCP was gone and back in less than two weeks. Free mag? Yes, thanks!

I have several S&W guns and have used their CS and warranty a few times -- it was top notch.

I have a Glock in need of repair ... they offered to look at it, but I had to pay shipping ... I opted to have a local smith fix it.

Other than that, all my guns are working well, so I don't know about their CS.
